I like this hotel for a NUMBER of reasons!

2) still an inexpensive stay w/o military discount!

4) REALLY nice pool, perfect for the kids
a) waterslide!
b) waterfalls
c) TWO jacuzzi's
d) small "beachy" area perfect for small keiki
5) CLEAN!

ALWAYS friendly and close to everything! Will definitely be back!

Our team attended the Kauai Baseball League Memorial Day Tournament for the first time and stayed at the hotel. It was my first time there. The kids enjoyed the 4 pools and slide. We are used to grilling and eating by the pool but this hotel does not allow outside food in pool area. Just plan on eating somewhere else. I would stay here again.. The staff are very friendly.

Forget Waikiki, go to Kauai. Peace and quiet. Yes. Free shuttle from the airport, Very professional and welcoming front desk staff, and beautiful room. Our room overlooked the pool which was just superb. This is a resort, so if you didn't have a car, dining was restricted to the hotel. Food was good and reasonably prices. Buffet breakfast was somewhat limited, but still quite good. If you visit Kauai, you must take one of the many helicopter rides. Breathtaking.

Room Tip: I would think the pool view rooms are better value than the ocean view.

Suffering from wanderlust since I was a little kid, I wanted to visit all 50 states but had decided to skip Hawaii. I was 9 years old when Hawaii became a state and I knew it would not be long before it became just another commercialized tourist locale so I never had any desire to go there. Until... a couple of co-workers told me about the Garden Island, Kauai. A great offer for AQUA KAUAI BEACH RESORT came via email from travelzoo.com (I got my Alaska trip through that site also) and I searched on tripadvisor.com for reviews by others and also for a great airfare. When that came through within a week, there was no stopping me. Now I've been to every state except Maine. That's for September 2014.

If you want to spend your vacation among skyscrapers, freeways, fast-food restaurants, huge hotel resorts, etc., Kauai is not the place for you. It is slow-paced, rural, lush with greenery, small villages, courteous drivers, wonderful shops with intriguing wares made by local craftsmen/women, and speed limits that allow you to rubberneck -- I almost got whiplash trying to see 360 degrees of gorgeous scenery! You can't take a BAD photo unless you have your finger over the lens. I was driving and just held the camera to the window - without even looking - and most of my pix (over 1,000!) are wonderful! Even though it rained at least a part of every day, it is a beautiful place and a wonderful experience.

The Kauai Beach Resort is lovely. I usually prefer to rent a house or condo when traveling but this resort was perfect. It's not huge like some where you almost need a taxi to go from one end to the other. Other reviews tell you about the open-air floors. There are a couple of nice gift shops, an open-air bar/lounge with live Hawaiian music (we could hear it softly from our room). We were on the top floor (5th) above the restaurant (on the first floor) which is beside a lovely lagoon with a softly flowing waterfall. Our view was of the pools with a "mountain" in the center covered with gloriously-colored plantlife with three waterfalls and grottos you can swim through. There is a poolside bar beside one of the pools. I spent one afternoon on the beach and the water was warmer than the pools! From my BED I could see the pools and also look through the Palm trees to the ocean beyond. I was told that the law in Kauai is that no building can be taller than the Palm trees. The resort is built so that every room facing the pools also has a view of the ocean.

The sound of the waves in the distance and the waterfall below lulled me to sleep each night. It was nice to sit on the balcony to watch the sunrise or in the evening to enjoy the Tradewinds. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient. (Don't forget to leave a gratuity for them.) The staff in general was warm and welcoming. The location is ideal for seeing all parts of the island. Around every bend in the road is a beautiful surprise. We did the boat tour up the Napali Coast (no road access) which included lunch and snorkeling. We drove a total of close to 400 miles in 5 days and covered probably 99% of the island.

We lived in swimsuits and sarongs and only "dressed" when we went to a luau and for the trip home.

This resort is serene and beautiful, with no feeling of large crowds, noisy pool areas or restaurants. It's ideal for quiet, cozy moments, lazing at the pools, leisurely meals at the restaurant or, as for us, a wonderful base for relaxing after all-day sightseeing.

You WILL fall in love with Kauai Beach Resort!!

Room Tip: 5th floor of main building, facing the pool and ocean

This esort captures the true feeling of Hawaii. The lobby and halls are open to the fresh air. The pool area is very welcoming and relaxing with 4 pools and water falls. The entrance drive is beautiful as well and its close to the airport and Lihue. We enjoyed the whole island with much less traffic and congestion than the Honolulu area. I would stay here again.

Kauai Beach Resort is ideally located for reaching any part of the island. It feels intimate and has a lovely pool area. Each time we came back from an excursion and drove under the beautiful canopy of trees leading to the hotel, we felt like we were coming home.

Room Tip: Get a room with an ocean view.

My wife and I came to kauai for a friends wedding. This resort is centrally located on the island and very close to the airport. Free shuttle to and from hotel and shopping mall. The staff is excellent and gave us hugs when we left. The bed was the most comfortable one we have slept in at any hotel or resort.
Pros are location, staff, resort beauty and cleanliness, free shuttle, close to most excursions, close to beach, nice swimming pools with waterfalls, rooms with private balconies, refrig in room, and nice sports bar with good live music.
Cons are no ocean swimming, expensive food and drinks, and pay for parking rental cars.

Room Tip: Some review people have complained of the rooster noise while trying to sleep but we stayed on the t...
