“Wish we could go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

I loved that this hotel is not a stickler for specific check-in times. We arrived early, around 10am, and the room that we had booked was still occupied (check-out is at noon). We were upgraded to a room with a lagoon view at no extra charge, and were able to keep the king-sized bed we'd requested. The ladies at the Reception desk were incredibly helpful, providing us with maps and brochures listing places of interest around the island. The one drawback was our early (6 and 7am) excursions. Breakfast wasn't provided until 6am, so we had to go to McDonald's. But overall, we wish we could go back!

Aloha and thank you for your review of the Kauai Beach Resort. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that our staff provided you with excellent service, particularly our Front Desk staff. We will be happy to share your kind comments with them. With respect to offering breakfast before 6 am, we certainly can make arrangements to have something prepared for you on those occassions with advanced notice. Wonderful family vacation spot! Being business owners and property owners ourselves, we understand that they have to charge for parking to cover their costs. Land is expensive there. Very clean and welcoming environment and staff. The pools and courtyard let you know you are in a little paradise. We loved the beach there and had a great time playing in the ocean!
We went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and had friendly courteous treatment! The staff even came out and sang Happy Birthday! Our favorite night was sitting around the rock fire pit and having Maui Tai's. We knew were on vacation! Thank you!

The hotel's location was pretty much in the middle of Kauai's shoreline. The hotel was nicely appointed. The room was spacious enough for 2 adults. The valet parking was a bit of a bummer as they were fixing the front of the hotel and we had to drop the car off a bit away from the front door. The restaurant was very overpriced for what you were served. The pool area was wonderful. The landscaping could not have been better.

My daughter and I took advantage of the spa for massages and facials. When we booked our massages we were not asked our preference as to the gender of the masseuse. My daughter had a female and I had a male masseuse, which really didn't matter to me. During my massage the masseuse kept telling me to breathe deeply and demonstrated how I should be doing so. Instead of a relaxing massage I was treated to the sound effects of a hurricane passing through the room.

The next day we both had facials. They only had one esthetician doing facials. They asked that we arrive 1/2 hour early. My daughter went first at 12:00. I arrived the requested 1/2 hour early and sat for over an hour. The spa was having trouble with their heat and it was freezing. A lady came through and asked me to come into the back as she wanted to lock the doors. She had me sit in the sauna since it was so cold. Finally it was my turn. Don't bother having a facial at this spa. First of all the room was so tiny it was hard to disrobe and there was no place that was out of the way to lay my shoes, glasses or jewelry. I was shivering by the time I was on the table. The esthetician put on some music and then complained about hearing the same songs over and over. She then proceeded to more of a reflexology facial than a cleaning facial. She did not look at my skin through a magnifier to see if I had any blackheads or problem areas. All she really did was slather creams on and while them off, during which she pushed and pulled on my head, hands and feet. Like I said, don't get a facial at this hotel.

If you are looking for a nice beach to either lay or get into the water don't come to this hotel.

All in all my daughter and I had a good time.

First thing it's all about the "MONEY" at Kauai Beach Resort not about the customer. When you check in they charge you for parking on there lots....$12.95 per day. Also at the pool side bar or at the bar inside the hotel....if you order food and share it with the person your with there's a $3.00 sharing charge....never heard of this before. Drinks are not any special....$10.00ea. Breakfest is very much a rip-off .

Next is all the rooms are not clean and the Roosters (Chicken)wake you up every morning at 4-5 am....its nice to sleep in when on holidays but not here. Fire alarm went off 4 times when I was there....once at 2am....3am and then 4 am.

Swimming pool around the bar is covered with sand....this is where the chickens hang out and do there dropping in the sand....very un healthy to walk in bare feet anywhere on property.Chickens are everywhere and leaving dropping everywhere....just nasty.

I would not tell anyone to stay at this resort.

Room Tip: Go any place else but here

My husband and I stayed at this resort September 2012 for our honeymoon for 4 nights and we had an amazing time! Our room was gorgeous and we had a fabulous view of sunrise and sunset each day. The buffet breakfast was very delicious! If you go for the buffet breakfast, get a table on the patio as you have a fabulous view of the resort and sun/ocean. Breakfast had various options such as: scrambled eggs, omelet station, cereal, assorted muffins and pastries, fruits, homestyle potatoes, bread slices, juices/tea/coffee, and bacon/sausages. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. The beach behind the resort isn't the greatest looking beach..water is rough (thus you really can't swim). But still go walk out to the edge of the cliff and take in the scenery. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Kauai!

We only stayed the one night as we were moving up to Princeville for the following week and would definately come back for a longer stay next time. Wonderful property with beautiful rooms, restaurants and grounds. The view from the beach is incredible and we caught glimpses of whales the day we arrived. The restaurant for dinner was incredible, relaxed and friendly service with wonderfully plated entrees and an excellent salad bar with dinner. The room was well appointed and very comfortable bed. WiFi is $13.95 per day and parking also a daily cost. Centrally located and well worth the price.

This resort was perfect! The staff were all lovely and accommodating; they really treated us like royalty. We stayed in the beach front suite and saw whales from our balcony every day we were there! The room was delightful and you can't beat the view. The water out front isn't great for swimming, but we did snorkel there once. The beach is great for walks...we even saw a full rainbow while walking the beach! We would absolutely stay there again and recommend to it to all our friends. :)
