“Nice hotel but with hidden feed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We did lile this hotel but watch for the hidden fees. It cost 15$ a day for the parking and they don't talk about it during the reservation. However the staff was sympatic, it is on a great location and it is also very clean

The resort appeared lovely from the outside. It was quite beautiful in the lobby and at the pool as well. However, our flight brought us to the resort at 1:00. Check-in wasn't until 3:00 or 4:00. They told us we could go ahead and use the pool, but what am I going to do, sit by the pool with my luggage? We sat in the lobby for an hour and half before my husband got agitated and got us in a room. I understand that we were early and that the resort does not have to allow us in early, but it seems most places will attempt to accommodate.
I also didn't appreciate that the hotel advertised self-pay parking and valet, but when we arrived they only offered valet at the higher price.
The room was nice. The comforter seemed old, but the rest was lovely. The pools were amazing and the beach was beautiful. There were hawaiian singers and dancers poolside on Tuesday night.

We had a great experience at this resort. Beautiful grounds and pool-well maintained.
The biggest issue is parking-construction-all is valet right now and though trying their best the staff has too many cars to contend with. I guess normally they charge 13-16 dollars per DAY to park. That is a big add on and also they charge a $25 check in fees for towels and such.
The breakfast buffet was quite good-the service was not very good.
All in All in was a great trip

booked this hotel/resort through www.hawaiiconnection.com. Only a 30 minutes flight from Honolulu. We always use this site for Hawaii visits. close to airport, but hardly any aircraft noise. Best to rent a car to roam around on this lovely island. ( go to www.economycars.com ) cheap and no access!
though we arrived quite early, we were upgraded to an available partial ocean view room. Spacy room but not 100% clean. Room rates are very reasonable. great swimming pools in well maintained gardens close to ocean. However, not much of a beach. Only valet parking available, approx $ 14 a day. Restaurant does not offer great choices, just drive into Lihue for better food options like Roys restaurant.
My conclusion: good value for your money on beautiful Kauai.

Architecture nothing special. Grounds & buildings are well maintained. WiFi only free in lobby. They do have a room & rental car package that saves money. Large pool area but nearby beach is rocky. All parking is valet & unorganized. The 3 times I called down to have car brought up I got no answer. I called front desk 2 times & gave valet ticket #. First wait was 45+ minutes, second was 25. After that I just went down to lobby & handed ticket to valet stand. This was faster. Fitness room is small but has good equipment & weights. Overall, this is a reasonable value resort near the airport

We chose to stay here for the reasonable price, the convenience of its central location near the airport, and because the hotel was hosting a college fair at which I volunteered. We arrived a day early so we could enjoy the island, but returning to the hotel to rest/change before going out again was a HUGE inconvenience. There is no self-parking and so for $16 a day we needed to wait 30+ minutes for the overworked valet staff to retrieve our car. (At any given time, around 20 people stood in the lobby, waiting for their car, and all we could hear were similar complaints about the lengthy wait for their car). The grounds were immaculate and the staff were friendly but seemed harried. The room was comfortable and although the bed was softer than I would prefer, we had a good night's rest. Common areas were very noisy. Apparently there was wifi available in the common areas but in the room it cost $13 a day. Is it really that difficult to offer internet to the guests? All in all the hotel was lovely, but the management could take some simple steps to ensuring a more comfortable stay for all.

The property was immaculate. The staff was helpful and friendly. We booked a mountain view room, but when we got to our room, we found we had a view of the ocean too! The location was perfect and even though the hotel is close to the airport, the plane noise was not noticeable. Due to construction, only valet parking was available. Although it cost extra, it was fast and reliable.
