Our tour of the Grove Farm was one of our most enjoyable activities while in Kauai. The former sugar plantation is very well preserved, and the tour guide extremely informative and made the history, family and farm activities come alive with his comments. I loved the grounds, family mansion, workers quarters, animals, garden and especially the cats--100s of them! The trust stated that the cats must be fed at 3pm every day, and they knew when the time was right. It was delightful seeing the cats with the chickens. A litter had been born in the chicken coop in the egg nest--they thought they were chickens. I saw one cat jump into the coop and was rubbing all over the rooster and hens. Just stopping by to say hello and give a little love rub. The tour ended with delicious tea and cookies. We all walked away with a smile on our faces. Highly recommend the tour. $20 donation is requested and worth it to keep this gem surviving. Reservations recommended.
