Not sure why everyone is giving this such a bad rap. I've been to Germain's luau on Oahu and I thought it was crap compared to this luau. This one was situated in one of the gardens with a nice stage and good amenities. They started us off with mai tai's, some sort of vodka cool aid and other drinks and they kept them coming. I had 5 of them and getting a little buzzed before they served dinner.
The table captian issued the tables in some bizzare order which didn't really favor people who arrived early. But the food was great. Fruit, potato salad, poi, steak, fish and kahlua pork as always. They polished it off with some tasty desserts and more mai tais.
The show itself was pretty short, only about 1.5 hours, but that's a good length for me. The whole show and dinner was only about 2.5 hours, but it ends at a good time.
Tips: They usually ask you to arrive 15 minutes early, show up 20-25 minutes early so you beat out everyone else and get the choice seats since it's first come first serve.
I think the people that gave the bad reviews showed up late and got stuck with crap seats and long waits. I will agree the host was a bit of a lounge lizard, but I thought most of the show was tasteful and well done.
