“The best plate lunch you can find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2007

Every year, after landing at Kauai's airport, my family and I go directly to the Fish Market. There plate lunchs are to die for! They have the best lau lau and koloa pig I have ever tasted. And the sticky rice is amazing too. Even their poi is good, if your in to that kinda thing...haha.

“Good food value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2007

Many things in Hawaii are delicious but not many things are of good value too. Koloa Fish Market proves that you can get a good meal in paradise. Located next to Big Save Market in Koloa Town, the restaurant serves up a large meal for lunch or an early dinner. If you like fish, try the poke or smoked marlin. Service is quick. Don't plan to dine-in, they don't have much seating. Just take your meal to the beach and you are in heaven. Enjoy.

“Tasty Plates To GO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2007

We came across the Fish Market the last time we were there and will be sure to go back this September when we return. The fish is fresh. The meals are tasty. The prices are better than buying pizza down the street - not to mention the food is healthier. As previous reviews have stated, it's really a take-out joint. Though, I'm not usually a fan of buying meals from food vans, there was one parked on the side of the road - I believe heading to Poipu Beach from Koloa - that served EXCELLENT garlic shrimp! Seems like the plate was like $10. We've eaten there the last two times we were in Kauai and each time was very enjoyable.

“More than just great seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2007

I was a bit skeptical when I was told the best kahlua pork was to be found at the Koloa Fish market. Just the name seemed to imply anything other than seafood would receive little attention from the cooks there. Not so! The plate lunches we had were excellent-- so good we ordered a party tray of kahlua pork for a party we held. Of course, the poki bowl was great, too. "Ono grinds", indeed!

“Best Hawaiian Food on Kauai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2006

We visit Kauai at least once a year and the first place we go to get "ono" (delicious) seafood and Hawaiian food is at Koloa Fish Market. The Hawaiian plate is the best I've had in all the Hawaiian Islands. The plate consists of Kalua (pulled pork) and Laulau (pork with Luau leaves wrapped in Ti-leaf), lomi salmon, rice, chicken long rice and poke (raw fish).

The seared ahi is awesome and so is the Korean Poke. This place is just 5 minutes away from Poipu Beach on the southshore of Kauai but go early, it's very busy around 1pm.
