The resort lobby was open and pleasant, rooms and beds very comfortable. A newly remodeled property, this is a great value and above most others in Hawaii.

Priceline has this place listed as a three and a half star resort. I would give it no more than two and a half, maybe, three stars.
Although the rooms were nice enough, with high cielings and tasteful decor, there were three issues I noted. First, the bathroom is so small, you can't sit on the commode and shut the the bathroom door at the same time. The size of the bathroom simply didn't accommodate two people at the same time. Second, the "porch" is likewise tiny and cannot fit two people comfortably at the same time (at least while sitting). Why then, does one need a porch? Finally, the air conditioning is excessively loud. It woke me up every time it started back up throughout the night.
The facilities were tired. A small pool with mismatched pool furniture and a hot tub that was broken for two out of the three nights we stayed there. No hot tub at a resort? Come on.
To leave on a good note, the resort was in a great area. Just minutes from the airport and Lihue on one side, and Kapaa on the other side, the resort was surrounded by things to do. Walking distance from shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend Wahooos, a seafood restaurant a 5 minute stroll from the premises.
I guess I just expected more for my money.
We just came back from Kauai and stayed at this hotel for 3 days. I wish it could have been longer. The place was beautiful. Nicely decorated. Rooms were very nice and recently renovated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful garden area and pool with open lounge area. There is also a beach. Great view of the ocean from most of the rooms.
It is also within walking distance of plenty of shopping and restuarants. We had a fantastic time and both agreed that we definitely stay here again!
My husband and I stayed here and LOVED it! Great price and even better location! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast each morning and the sunrises were amazing! The room was beautiful and very clean. The only problem I had the whole week was the humidity in the room. The air conditioner worked just fine, but I felt like the sheets had a damp feeling to them each night. I would stay here again and would recommend this property to my friends and family.
We stayed at this hotel in early Oct 2008, and had a good time, but just wanted to point out a few positives and negatives.
We booked through Priceline, and were pleased to receive a rate of $100/night, which was even better on arriving because we found out that this included the resort fee (parking, newspapers, etc), which would normally be ~$12 day, so extra savings. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to several other hotels, and easy driving to Kapaa, Lihue.
The rooms are nicely decorated in a modern style, and we had a garden view which was pleasant enough. The free wired internet access was great.
I got the feeling that the tourist downturn has hit the hotel a bit unfortunately. The hotel felt like it was less than half full, and some of the maintenance had suffered possibly. Many items on our floor were out of order at some point, such as the elevator, soda machine, washing machine, but that is not a big problem.
The main issue we had was that the air conditioning in our room on arrival was so weak that everything was warm and humid, not a pleasant feeling! This was on the 4th floor in the farthest left wing, looking at the hotel from the front. The maintenance man was called, made some adjustments in the unit, and he said the chilled water was having a problem, but should be ok by the time we returned (we went to Waimea Canyon for the afternoon).
However, on returning, it was still only mildly cool, but mostly moist, which was unpleasant. So we called again, and this time, after looking into two other possible room choices, we finally got one (in the wing next to the lobby, again 4th floor on the left) that had tolerably working A/C.
After that, our stay was fine. The rooms are very pleasant a nicely decorated, and the hotel staff are very helpful. Just would be nice if they had more customers!
hope you enjoy it too.
