“The Best Place Ever With Only One Fixable Needed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We really loved our stay here and would come back in a minute if we could just have a good mattress! I was a little concerned by reading previous reviews or maybe we just lucked out, but our room was huge, the bathroom was huge, the ocean view was splendid, and the spa looked super. Yes, the ocean is not swim able due to the rocks, but it is lovely and very close to Anini or Hanalei if you have a car. Try Eggbert's for all day breakfast, fresh pineapple juice papaya, super omelettes. Don't miss Hukelau's for gourmet dinner ( several kinds of fresh fish) and great music in the bar afterwards. Walkable from the hotel.
We loved it but that awful unforgivable mattress in 192 .

Room Tip: Ask for a premier king ocean view.

We had a room facing the ocean 100%, not side way or from an angle and that made it that much more pleasant as we could watch the sunrise from our balcony. The hotel has a beach but swimming is challenging due to the proximity of the coral reef very close to shore but despite that I was still adventurous enough to go past the reef and be able to swim and snorkel. The pool setup is very very nice with a fireplace type flames next to the pool making it a perfect place for a drink at night. The location of the hotel is perfect if you have a car rental as you can reach the north shore beaches in less than an hour and to the south also just about an hour or so. There is a Safeway within walking distance which made it perfect to get groceries as the food is EXPENSIVE as heck anywhere on the island if eating at a restaurant. Overall the hotel's amenities, room, service and location exceeded our expectations by a lot. I highly recommend it and make sure you reserve one if the rooms from the two wings were the balconies are facing the beach and the ocean, it will be very nice. We stayed for 10 nights and the room made a difference for sure.

My wife and I stayed here over 4th July week. The hotel was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Expedia concierge at the activities desk was VERY helpful for local restaurants and activities.

The cost of the hotel was only $150 per night, plus tax, so it was very reasonable for an ocean front hotel. The properly is beautiful as well, great pool and right on the beach.

The ocean in front of the hotel is a little rough and the beach is rocky, so not the best for swimming, but great for sun bathing.

The food at the restaurants was pretty good, but not excellent, so I'd reco going to some local restaurants for a change of pace.

Room Tip: We got an ocean view, but we couldn't see the ocean from our bed, we had to go on the balcony...

Just came back from a 3 night stay at this hotel - very nice hotel, clean, wonderful food at downstairs dining restaurant, reasonable prices. Hotel had a little balcony - saw the tennis court when opened. Close by to little shopping area to the right of hotel - smaller restaurants and Foodland - tip - if you see an item that you want to buy, there is a member price. To get the member price, just tell the cashier your phone number - you can use this number each time you ca shout for the savings! Overall, I would stay at this hotel again - also, not far from airport.
Just the beach area is not that great compared to Maui.

This is a really nice property. The courtyard is beautiful, and you can see the beach and ocean well. Well-maintained and nicely appointed. They have lots of local entertainment at night - low-key but authentic and fun. The concierges, who work with Trip Advisor, were extremely helpful and wonderful to work with. They set us up with three different adventures around the island, and each one worked out great. Totally fun adventures, awesome guides, and safe/new equipment. All three of them - Kristin, Heidi, Lea - knew a lot about all of the guide companies and the options they offered. Very happy that we talked with them and went with their recommendations. Plus they made it easy!

The location in Kapaa was perfect. It's right in between the North and South Shores. The hotel staff was great and the welcome Mai Tai's was really nice touch. The room itself isn't that great, but we got a good deal so I didn't really want to complain. The room smelled musty and of mildew. We had a partial ocean view so we kept the slider open most of the time. The AC unit was very loud and was difficult for my husband to sleep. One evening there was a wedding out by the pool across from our room and that was very noisy until after 10:30 pm. One morning the fire alarm came on and was coming from our room and the room across from us. That was an extremely loud annoying noise. It lasted a few minutes and the entire hotel had to evacuate. We were never told what happened. On a positive note, the pool and spa were pretty good and the hotel is right on the beach, which is very convenient. The grounds were pretty well kept. They had lots of chairs and some hammocks to lay in. There is plenty of parking, but It was pretty expensive to park our rental car there. It added up quickly. There are places walking distance from the hotel. We were able to walk to a couple of restaurants and grocery stores that were in the area. The Snorkel Bob's we rented snorkel equipment from was just down the street from the hotel. Bonus! All in all, it was a good deal.
