The views here are great -- right on the ocean, and east-facing so you get a room full of Hawaiian sun to wake up to. That's wonderful.
Right across the street are several "complexes" with some nice restaurants in them. The Lemongrass was pretty good; the "A Pacific Cafe" was fantastic. We ate there on Thanksgiving and again a couple of days later, and really enjoyed it. Additionally, the Mexican restaurant "La Playita Azul" was a nice change from standard Californian Mexican food -- great sauces, wonderfully spiced meat, and generous portions.
The problem with the location is that you can't use the beach that you're looking out at all day. There's a nice lawn you can sit on if you're not interested in wading or swimming, but there's no sand in front of the condos. The coral and rocks make it difficult to even walk on the beach, and impossible to get in and swim.
There are several nice swimming beaches nearby. Lydgate of perfect for kids and others who want a protected "lagoon-type" environment; Wailua and Kilea (sp?) are nice for stronger swimmers or body / board surfing enthusiasts.
If you don't mind a short drive to get to a nice beach, this is a nice place to stay.
