A beautiful resort - oceanview was just that - a beautiful view from Room 342. An ideal location as we traveled the island daily, Parking a little tough on a couple of days but a pass from the security guard puts you right outside the resort parking area but a close walking distance. No restaurant on grounds but nearby were good -The Bullshed, Oasis on the Beach - good food and drinks. Eggberts good for breakfast. We would definitely retun!

Room Tip: Any room with oceanview - they are all good - 2 or 3rd level for sure

I got married in Kauai last summer. We stayed at the Aston Islander, along with most of our guests. We had a beautiful ocean view room. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was so nice. The price was unbeatable. Overall a great experience.

We had an ocean view room on the second floor.. Nice views of the pool and beach. Beautiful watching the sunset on the balcony. Check in simple and easy.. No hidden costs etc or surprise parking costs. The hotel room was nice and clean, safe and quiet. air con worked really well. Our room was equipped with basic kitchen appliances like a microwave, fridge and sink which was handy for breakfasts. We ate out for most other meals but I was quite disappointed with the choice of food nearby. Nothing like in maui or Oahu. Might be worth getting a full kitchen here. Massive malls close by with Safeway etc. Free wifi and complimentary dvd rental. You cant swim at the beach and I would suggest heading to some beaches near poipu or up to tunnels for a day of snorkelling etc. hotel is located about 15 minutes drive from the airport. Pretty good location, close to food in lihue and plenty to do close by. Only annoying thing about the hotel was the parking would get full at about 8.30pm. If there was no spots left we had to park in a deserted car park near the highway. 5 minute walk away. We then had to move the car before 10am the next day back to the hotels car park. Kind of inconvenient as it happened 3-4 times in our week long stay. Overall we had a really good stay.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are worth it

There was good and bad about this hotel. First the good. I highly recommend staying on the third floor ocean view. And what a beautiful view it is!!! The ocean has every shade of blue and greens, gorgeous!!! It was nice sitting on the balcony, enjoying the breeze and watching the waves. The room had a small coffee maker, dishes for four, fridge, hairdryer, play station and unlimited DVD's. There are also several stores and restaurants in walking distance. The bad...lots of construction going on at the hotel that we were not told about in advance. Sitting by the pool wasn't very enjoyable with all the drilling, sanding, sawing, pounding, banging etc.. The décor in the room was pretty dated too. You are unable to swim at the beach in front of this hotel. There are signs posted advising the risks. There were also only three lounge chairs on the beach to use.

Room Tip: Having the ocean view room, we didn't hear any of the construction from that side of the hotel...

Having read a number of past reviews of this facility, I was a little apprehensive. So it was a pleasant surprise to find the check-in easy and straightforward, the staff courteous and helpful, and the room clean and reasonably well equiped. Our room was ground floor with a great view of the ocean. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and well maintained with paved walkways. Although we had intended to make use of the attracive pool complex, our schedule of activities was such that we never got around to it. At the end of our week, since we had a relatively early inter-island flight, the staff checked us out the night before and allowed us to print out our boarding passes. Perhaps management has changed from what it was when those less than complimentary reviews were submitted.

This was a great place to stay. It is close to everything and in a beautiful location. There are several restaurants within walking distance and the beach is right next to the hotel. We had a really lovely time and hope to visit again sometime soon.

Stayed for 4 nights and really liked everything about this place. The staff were really nice and attentive, the pools and greens were well maintained (we saw the pool being cleaned and tested every morning). They have freshly brewed coffee every morning along with some pastries. For the resort fee they charge ($15) you get beach/pool towels, 2 free movie/game rentals, and free wifi and free parking. We really liked the location of this hotel. It was centrally located for all our activities. The nearby Kapaa town was also nice and had good dining options (and coffee places. Do visit Small town coffee and Java Kai). We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
