“Girls Get-Away in June 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

When we booked our vacation trip in April 2013 we were looking for affordable, comfortable, clean, and convenient location. When we arrived in June, our expectations were all met and the perks were a friendly helpful staff, clean rooms daily, roomy accomodations for 4 women and great location from the beach (only a few steps away, 15 minutes from the airport, an hour from Hanalei and the North Shore and about the same distance from Poipu and the eastern side of the island). All-in-all it was a home away from home that made our vacation even more enjoyable and we will be revisiting them in the future. Thank you Plantation Hale!!

We stayed at Plantation Hale Suites from June 22-June 27th 2013. We were very pleased with the updated one bedroom suite they put us in. Our room was on the ground floor of building H. The suite had a nice layout and felt very spacious. There was a sliding door in the living room and a sliding door in the bedroom that led to the same balcony/lanai (which had a gate to the yard). The kitchen was open to the living room, with barstools at the counter and had a full size fridge, microwave, sink and apartment sized stove. For the bathroom area, the tub and toilet were in a separate room than the sink, which had a large counter top and mirror. The bedroom had plenty of storage with a double dresser and a large closet with sliding doors. The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of outlets located throughout the suite. The living room had a round table with four chairs, a large TV and couch (I believe it was a pull-out but no one ever used it to know for sure). The ac system was one unit in the living room with a vent to the bedroom. We used the ac only for the fan (there were also ceiling fans) because it stayed relatively cool in the room with the floor to ceiling drapes pulled. There are a lot of hotels on Kauai and the other islands that don't offer AC, we were originally booked somewhere else but decided to book this hotel instead because of this issue. There were three pools on the property; one was located between our building and the next building over. There were also two Jacuzzi's but they were located at the other two pools. The pools and Jacuzzi's were open until 10 and you got towels from the front desk. There were also multiple grills on the property, mostly located near the pool. They were available first come first served however, we used the grill near us for dinner one night and no one else was out there. This hotel is located in the same complex as the Courtyard Kauai Coconut Beach, Kauai Coast Resort at the Beach Boy, Aston Islander on the Beach and the Coconut Market Place. I personally love this location in Kapaa; it is in a central location between the south shore and the north shore. We had quite a few activities planned while on the island and this location was close to everything! There are also a lot of grocery stores, restaurants and shops around. I had previously stayed the Courtyard which was an Aston hotel at the time and I loved the hotel and the area. We were traveling with a large group and most of us really wanted a kitchen, that is the main reason we chose this hotel over the Courtyard (the Courtyard also had no availability). I think we made a good choice and it was very reasonably priced. The front desk staff was also very accommodating and nice. Prior to our arrival my mom had called a few times to ask some questions and she ended up being on a first name basis with Noe, one of the receptionists. When we arrived she was in the other office and overheard my mom start to talk, she immediately came out and introduced herself because she recognized my mom's voice. She was beyond nice; the whole team really was great! I am not sure if the hotel plans on renovating all the rooms, from what I saw the older rooms looked outdated but were clean. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially the suites; they really were an excellent value!

Wow!!! I am at a loss for words. Thank you for the terrific review. I am so pleased you enjoyed the resort, our new suites and the location. You are so right there are many hotels on the Island to choose from and we are happy you choose us. Your comments on Noe are spot on. She is a terrific team member. Today was our team member of the quarter luncheon and Noe was the winner. I am so fortunate to have such a great staff. Many thanks for your comments and your business...Aloha.

Can't say enough about this place. Great location, friendly staffs and renovated room were everything we hoped for !! When I booked this hotel, I requested possibly having a better view and a renovated room for my 2yrs anniversary. I didn't think they would care much but boy, when we checked in .. they upgraded us to a scenic view & a renovated room right away !! Made my trip already =)

Staffs were great & I could not find better location than Kapaa ! It's right in between Poipu and Hanalei. Totally recommend this place & would come back to Plantation Hale next time we visit Kauai !!

Room Tip: Make sure to leave comments (requesting certain needs), they do read and accommodate =)

We stayed at plantation hale few weeks ago and we had a great experience. The rooms are very accommodating (especially the full kitchen), very clean and the view was incredible. Staff was very helpful and nice. We would really recommend this place to all our friends and family. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip.

We stayed there for a week. It located in a very convenience location. It is a 3 stars hotel, so it is a little bit old, but it is clean and with good facilities.
There are many restaurants around the hotel, less than 20 minutes driving distance from the airport. Half way to go to the northern and southern and western parts of the island.
People are very friendly.
Beach is in a walkable distance, but that beach is not for water sports nor swimming. For swimming or water sports go to the beach north of the hotel. Just 5-10 minutes driving distance. It is a very nice and quiet beach.

I have been coming to Plantation Hale for over eight years. They have finally renovated the rooms. Love the renovations. Kudos to the designers. The living room and bedroom are comparable yo the rooms at the Lihue's Marriot. Yes, I visited relatives in their Marriot rooms. The rooms are designed with a Pottery Barn Hawaiian touch. Very well done. The staff people are very nice. The location is between Hanalei and Poipu. Very centralized. I hope that they will renovate thd kitchen next. The pools too. Good value, yes!

Plantation Hale is a great centrally located place to stay. This was our first time on Kauai, so we weren't sure where on the island to stay. This turned out to be ideal for seeing the sights on all parts of the island.
We were upgraded to an ocean view suite. It was very clean and comfortable. The pool and spa were just a short distance from our room. It was fun watching the roosters stroll through the property.
We had one problem, on the first cleaning of the room, we weren't given any extra toilet paper. We discovered this very early in the morning the following day. As soon as the front desk opened we called and they brought us some right away. We didn't have any other issues with the cleaning of the suite.
We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Kauai.
