“Quiet, nice atmosphere, good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

One of the few options in Kapa'a if you want something a bit more refined and healthy dining than standard. Ambiance really nice with art (owners are ex gallery holders from Europe) on the walls, cosy seating arrangements inside and on a small terrace (perhaps the only one in Kapa's?).

“Europe here in Kauai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

It is a nice little coffee shop on Kauai that made me think I was in Europe. They had great coffee, a nice setting, and good food.
We enjoyed sitting outside.

“Oh! My! Gosh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

This was by far, my favorite breakfast place. The European owners pay close attention to every detail in the food and the decor. The food was so good, and it was such a nice atmosphere. We loved our waitress, Mia.

“Very good, not the usual Hawaiian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Had a very good latte and salmon and goat cheese croissant. My husband had the lamb special and he said it was really good as well. It's a very quaint place, not like the usual plate lunch places in Hawaii. We enjoyed it very much, the only ding was shooing away the flies.....yuck. But....food was very good.

“Invisible Customers”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

As the line for Kountry Kitchen was 30 minutes we made our third attempt at The Hemingway. had good reviews... We walked in and were seen by about 6 workers behind the counter. And then sat down to look at a menu (which we picked up near the door). Apparently we turned invisible at this point as the wait staff worked hard to rearrange furniture, table coverings, etc - walked out after 5-6 minutes. Never again. Rude, pretentious, and unwelcoming. Rejoined the line and Kountry kitchen - yummy!
