We recently got back from a short stay at the Lae Nani. We booked directly through Outrigger and were assigned room 211, which is a ground floor, corner, 1 bed, 1.5 bath unit near the pool. My initial reaction was "ground floor, near the pool? i don't know about that". Boy was I wrong! First off the unit was really lovely, looked professionaly decorated, everything was top notch - granite counters in the kitchen and bathroom, berber carpet in the bedroom, etc.. And being near the pool was no problem at all, it was nice to sit out on one of the two chaise lounges (2!) on the huge lanai and see the beautiful pool, grounds landscaping and beach beyond that! The location is perfect as well, within walking distance of the coconut market place and Kapaa is such a neat, centrally located town as well. If you have kids (and even if you don't), Lydgate park beach which is nearby is a must! My only disappointment we had was the noisy upstairs neighbors on our last night, who sounded as if they had lead shoes on! Unfornutately, you can't choose your neighbors, but they went to bed by 10pm so it was not that bad.

We choose Lae Nani because of recommendations from locals who we knew. It is a condo (everything provided except food) and we were able to cook our own meals which cut down on food expense and allowed us to enjoy more of the island. The grills are near the pool and are huge gas grills. Cleaned nightly.
The grounds were wonderful. Clean and well manicured. We had an ocean view which was more than sufficient for ocean access. The beach was small but secluded. Monk seals come up and sleep right on this beach. When they do the management blocks that section of the beach off. It is a federal crime to disturb the monk seals. They block the beach off for your protection and the seals. Short pathway to next door's beach for a swim, longer stroll or jog. Walking distance to the Coconut Marketplace for shopping and dining if desired. Centrally located on the island for activities north or south. There is a laundry area and you can purchase soap in main office. Security about the grounds are very attentive to maintaining and protecting the resort. We had a ground floor unit and had left the screen and not the glass closed on the slider when we went to bed. They shut it during a walkabout and left us a note on glass as to why. It was appreciated to know that someone was looking out for us during our stay. Housekeeping was very respectful of items in room.
I didn't mean to write a book but we thouroughly enjoyed our time at the Lae Nani and are definately going to stay here again.

We just returned from Outrigger Lae Nani. We were very lucky to stay in Unit #331, two bedroom, two bath condo. In our opinion this condo had the absolute best views. We were very close to the ocean and just down the stairs from the pool. The furniture was a little outdated, but the gorgeous views more than made up for it, although, my husband did not sleep well on the bed in the master bedroom ( there was definitely a huge dip in the mattress). I loved falling asleep to the waves crashing on the sand. The unit had wall air conditioners in both bedrooms, although we did not need to use them. If you are looking to be pampered this is not the place for you, however, our family truly enjoyed the home like feel of the condo. On our final day, two monk seals were on our beach, it was awesome to be so close too them.

Within walking distance from the condo was the Coconut Marketplace, which had places to eat, and numerous souvenir shops. Also, just down the street was a Safeway, Foodland, and a Longs. The location of the condo was perfect, we were able to get to all sides of the island in a short amount of time. We would definitely come back and request this same unit.

We stayed at the Outrigger Lae Nani the week of May 20, 2007. We loved the location as you can take quick trips all over the island all the time. When we arrived, the front desk was helpful and checked us in quickly. The entire staff was very nice. Our condo was clean but in need of some modern upgrades with the furniture, kitchen, and bathrooms.It looked straight out of 1975. What we found out from another couple also staying at the resort is that all of the units are decorated by the owner. Their condo was beautiful and looked brand new!! You can ask to change until you are in a unit that suits you. I would stay again but would ask to see the unit before taking my luggage in. With all of this said, the location was perfect. The pool and grounds were VERY well kept and the view was breathtaking. Enjoy!!
