All I can say is WOW! Beside the fact that this resort is located on Kauai, which is the most beautiful place on Earth, the staff and the accomodations at the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy were amazing. We called the staff from the Lihue airport to get directions and were pleased to find out that it was only five miles from the airport in Kapa'a and was very easy to find. When I went to check in I was greeted by three very friendly staff members at the front desk, one of whom informed me that they had upgraded us for free from the garden view efficiency room that I had reserved to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath OCEANFRONT condominium with full kitchen and full living room. The only caveat was that we could only be in it for the first 3 days of our vacation and we would move to another unit for our last day. I said no problem, and the desk clerk informed me that all we had to do was pack our things and have them ready on that last morning and the staff would move us. All of that went flawlessly and we never really had to do anything, they took care of it. The grounds were immaculately groomed, the pool and hottub were beautiful and the beach and ocean were awesome. The beach area directly in front of the resort is small and rocky, however you can walk up the beach about 50 yards and it really opens up. Also the groomed lawn runs right up to the sand and most patrons just lay on lounge chairs on the lawn, which was very nice. Also they have a couple of hammocks that are placed beneath the most beautiful coconut palms. It is a perfect place to take a nap in the shade, as I did, with the sounds of the waves crashing in the background and the 10-15 mph sustained breeze that ALWAYS comes off the water and through the resort. On our last night there, we ate at Hukilau Lanai, which is the restaurant right there in the resort. Trust me when I say this, if you plan on eating a nice dinner out, this is the ONLY place on the island to do it. It is that good. My wife and I went down to Roy's the night before in Poipu and Roy's has nothing on Hukilau Lanai. There is a reason it is rated number 1 in Kauai on tripadvisor. We sat out on the patio that overlooks the garden and we could see the ocean as we ate. The food was unbelievable as well and very reasonably priced. We were kicking ourselves for not eating there twice as opposed to going down to Roy's. Also check out the italian place in Old Kapa'a town called Pizzeta's. They had great pizza there and they served big portions as well. The location on the island was also a huge plus in our opinion. Kapa'a is a pretty little town, and it has grocery stores, pharmacies, some fast food, and other modern conveniences. Also, because of Kapa'a's location on the middle of the eastern coast, you can go north up the coast all the way around the north part of the island through Kilauea and Princeville to Hanalei in about an hour or you can go south down the coast and around the southern part of the island through Poipu, Kiloa, and Waimea to the Waimea Canyon in the same amount of time. Oh and did I mention that we got all of this through hotels.com for $109 a night

Besides the fact that they didn't have a rice cooker(by microwavable rice), I loved the place. The pool/beach side bar. The pools= kiddie pool, pool with waterfall (no deeper than 4.5 feet), and of course the jacuzzi. They all close at 10pm and cleaned every morning. By the pool, you also have service to clean towels(no tabs), restrooms, two hammocks, tons of lounge chairs and kiddie sandbox full of plastic sand toys. You also have access to two really great BBQ stove by the pool, with a bin full of clean BBQing utensils(with lamp post, so can be used at night).
The place itself (Rm 1208) was alright. The place seemed a tiny bit old. The bathroom consist three rooms. First room, two sinks and huge mirror. Second room, more like a closet, was the washer and dryer(buy own detergent & sheets). Third room, the ivory thorn and bathtub(which was the typical stuff). The master bedroom is pretty impressive. The sky high mattress, the glass door leading to patio, the TV, the furniture. The living room, comfy couch(pull out bed), Tv (on small side), glass doors that need to patio (table and two chairs, with pool/ beach view, patio has no light so pull the lamp inside next to glass for light), fake flowers, nice furniture, framed mirror. The kitchen, you could tell had some age. Fridge, was great size for case of water bottle. Freezer, had ice maker. The oven was definitely when used long enough (electrical), and dish washer (need to buy own detergent), and small trash bin under sink. I really did like, that they provided plastic bags (good size) for recyclables.
Even though the condos have a restaurant within the place, don't don't do room service. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but you could tell the food was good. They maintain a constant stream of guest through out the whole day and epically at night(or try the Huki Lianai, spelling is wrong, locals said good food$$$). The lounge room has very nice furniture and saltwater tank. There was a computer with internet ($.39 per minute, no free wi-fi) If you need the computer to print out boarding pass ask the lady next to the computer table(she'll look it up for you and print it for free). The service at front desk and staff everywhere, were very courteous, friendly and genuine.

Do enjoy your stay, if you choose to stay here. Take advantage of their pool and their jacuzzi everynite.

  • Liked — Great for the family. Across the street from coconut market (great shopping).
  • Disliked — pool was always over crowded with kids. Beach was to dangerous to get in.

The rooms on the property are like a 5 star resort. Remember this is a timeshare property so there is a presentation that is required to get some of the discounts events on the island. There also is an outside gas grill which was very useful, because most on the restaurant on the beach are priceeeeeeeey. Overall I would stay there (Beachboy) again in a heartbeat and give it 2 thumbs up.

I don't have much to say about this place because it speaks for itself. What a wonderful place to stay. Do yourself a favor and at about midnight go to the beach area and lay down on one of the many hammocks that are connected to palm trees. Lay down and listen to the ocean......
.......that was the highlight of my stay. This place is clean, the rooms are big and spacious, and the grounds are beautiful. What I also liked was the shopping area right across the street where you could get anything from shaved ice to shish-ka-bobs. I have stayed in Princeville a few time, but to me Kapaa is where it is at. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Kauai. Simply remarkable!

This resort was amazing. The rooms were very clean and super roomy. We had a large bedroom living area, kitchenette area, bathroom (no jacuzzi tub :( , and our own washer and dryer. We reserved this hotel through a time share.
When we first got there we signed up to hear the whole time share spill so we were able to get discounts like buy one get one free or 50% off discounts. The presentation was good, but like most time share reps they were pushy.
Over all the island was beautiful and the resort was nice. We would definitely go back.
