I don't have much to say about this place because it speaks for itself. What a wonderful place to stay. Do yourself a favor and at about midnight go to the beach area and lay down on one of the many hammocks that are connected to palm trees. Lay down and listen to the ocean......
.......that was the highlight of my stay. This place is clean, the rooms are big and spacious, and the grounds are beautiful. What I also liked was the shopping area right across the street where you could get anything from shaved ice to shish-ka-bobs. I have stayed in Princeville a few time, but to me Kapaa is where it is at. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Kauai. Simply remarkable!

This resort was amazing. The rooms were very clean and super roomy. We had a large bedroom living area, kitchenette area, bathroom (no jacuzzi tub :( , and our own washer and dryer. We reserved this hotel through a time share.
When we first got there we signed up to hear the whole time share spill so we were able to get discounts like buy one get one free or 50% off discounts. The presentation was good, but like most time share reps they were pushy.
Over all the island was beautiful and the resort was nice. We would definitely go back.

We stayed on the East side of the Island in the town of Kapaa at the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy. The resort was beautiful, on the beach, newly remodeled, with a natural waterfall pool. Got a great deal through Travelocity and then got an upgrade from a studio to a 1 bed. w/ washer & dryer & full kitchen without even asking for it. The decor was beautiful and very, very roomy. 1st floor Lanai with a sliding door adjacent to the bedroom and another adjacent to the living room.
Note: Unless you have children or you are on your honeymoon, you will probably be so busy that you will not spend much time in your room. If you are on a budget, save money for activities and go for a less expensive room. Having at least a kitchenette, however, is a good idea, as the prices for food and eating out are slightly steep. If you do shopping upon arrival, join the "club" at the grocery store so that you get "club" prices. This does not cost anything and saves a bundle! Do not "overshop" as you will end up leaving tons behind.
Our Friends stayed at the Plantation Hale across the street. This was a step down from our resort, but very nice and would be great if you have kids and you are on a tight budget. There was a wonderful outdoor shopping and food market called the Coconut Grove and the shops were moderately priced. This was close and fun to walk through. Hula Girl Bar and restaurant was located here and a good place to meet for cocktails. Tradewinds bar was open till 2:00a.m. (the only thing open late, in the area) It was fun pub style, with Karaoke.
Everything is close to this area. The airport is about 10 min. The South end of the Island is about 30-40 min. and the North End is 25min.-1 hour. The canyon is about 1hr. or more. You really need to rent a car when going to Kauai, there is so much to see and it was really fun driving around exploring.

If you are looking for a condo in Kapaa, this is it. This is a fantastic place to stay. We traveled with our 18month old and I couldn't have been more pleased. We had a one bedroom oceanview. Next time, we will go for ocean front. The room was very clean and well maintained. They just got new mattresses on the bed and they are wonderful. Upon arrival, they had already set the the pack and play crib for our daughter. I expected the crib to be nasty and dirty as most hotel cribs are and I was surprised. It looked brand new!! They have a great little kiddy pool and a sand box area for the little ones. The beach is not swimable, however, a short 3 min drive takes you to Lydgate Park which is awesome for little ones. This is not a big resort, but more of a laid back upscaled condo. They do have a pool side bar with snacks and a restaurant on-site. They are really low key about the time-share deal and don't give you a hard time if you decide not to take the timeshare tour. We didn't do it, but I heard you get a lot of dinner gift card and lots of money off excursions just for attending. Anyhow, we loved this property and will be a definite return customer!
