“Second stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This was our second time here. Last stay was in 2009. It was still just as good now. We got a 2 bedroom suite. It is spacious and has two bedrooms. I was disappointed that they wouldn't let us check in before 4pm. But we sat in the chairs facing the ocean and relaxed while waiting. There were a few issues with our room. The light fixture in the bathroom slipped down and started to fall. We called the front desk and someone came to fix it within 6 mins. Also the rooms have to be kept around 76 degrees. We had put it down and the next morning there was water at the front door. But it was still comfortable and there are ceiling fans. We asked for cream and within 5 mins a worker had 20 packets. They were all very nice and helpful. The location is beautiful The pool always has seating and it really pretty. I would recommend watching the sunrise on the beach there and also walking across the field and down to the Courtyard Marriott which is another great place to watch the sunrise. There are tidal pools between the two properties. Oh and the prices to stay here are VERY good. I got in on a black Friday special. I only spent $230 per night for a two bedroom suite with full kitchen and table that seats 6 and two bedrooms and large living room. There are no elevators so if you cant walk, then ask for the 1st floor. You can hear people walking above you but our above neighbors were all polite. Good location with grocery store right nearby. There is a lot of traffic but we never waited more than a minute to turn out of the property.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days. It's located at the east cost of Kauai island. And it's convenient to get to the Ke'e Beach, poipu beach and waimea canyon. There are grocery market in walking distance. It's also very close to a fun playground. Big bathroom, however no tub. Overall, we are very satisfied with this hotel.

We arrived at 2pm, exhausted from our flight, and had to wait in the lobby for 2 hours until 4pm because check in is strictly after that time...
While we were waiting, they tried to sell us a timeshare. We immediately declined. I didn't realize that this resort was more than a hotel. I think that the hotel experience differs significantly from the timeshare experience because most of the good reviews are from the latter.
The room was average. It had a nice outdoor patio but was dingy inside and in need of updating. Sleep quality was fine and the hotel was quiet.
The best part of our stay was the easy access to the beach, which was WAY less crowded than what you'll find on Oahu. As an island, I now prefer Kauai!
Maybe if I pretended that I wanted a timeshare we would have gotten a better room? Who knows.

Room Tip: Tell them you're interested in the time share.

I just got back from The Kauai Beach Resort at the beachboy.

I own a week at this resort, but it was the first time I stayed there.
The resort is beautiful, spacious and comfortable.

The staff is Terrific. I will go there again! :-)

Room Tip: No elevators, so be sure to ask for 1st floor if you can't climb stairs

This was our 3rd time at this property. Each time we are always satisfied. We couldn't ask for more - living room, full kitchen, bedroom, washer/dryer, etc... The grounds are always beautiful and the gym is an added bonus. This time we stayed for 11 days around 4th of July and the actual pool was very dirty most of the time. We haven't experienced this before, so I am guessing it is because we were here at peak season and during a very busy holiday. I do wish it was cleaner, but it wasn't the end of the world. The location in Kapaa is also great. We love being close to both ends of the island. Overall I was satisfied once again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Before going to Kauai for a short vacation, I did a research on hotels. We were not aiming for the low cost end neither for the upper end. Just something nice, private, large and at the oceanfront. So we gave a chance to Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy.

The resort consists of several independent low-rise building and most rooms have view toward the pool area or the garden (with partial ocean view), only few actually are on the oceanfront or with the oceanview. Apparently, there is plenty parking (with chaotic labels on the road), however, it gets crowded during evenings (because of the fancy restaurant residing at the hotel) and events (we had to park pretty far from our building few times but that's not a big deal for us but might be for someone else). It's located right before the Kapaa town (coming from Lihue), surrounded by other hotels and resorts. Although there is only one restaurant at the property, the Kapaa offers plenty local shacks, pubs and places to go. The location is also perfect - close to the airport and right between the North and South shore of Kauai.

The check-in was straight-forward, however, the front desk lady was not very friendly. Because we were new on the island, we walked straight toward the concierge. The person over there seemed to be helpful and friendly in the beginning, however, it turned out she only wanted to attend timeshare presentations (and probably purchase timeshare at the resort) and sell us attractions (with possible provision). I really didn't like her after asking about our income...

Although the facade of the hotel looks pretty boring, the room interior was much better then expected - in fact, rooms are condos, with full kitchen, full (large bathroom) and a big bedroom. Bedroom and living room/kitchen are connected by a balcony (which is perfect to chill out and watch the ocean). So, if you plan to make your own food (there is no breakfast served at the hotel), this is perfect. I also enjoyed the furniture and total look of the room - massive wooden dining table, colorful drapes, wooden king size bed, A/C in every room with the temperature regulation (that turns out whenever you open the balcony door). It also has free wifi internet (of mediocre quality). The walls appear to be thin, however, it was quiet during our stay.

The outdoor area within the hotel is decently landscaped, with an outdoor pool with a waterfall, jacuzzi, a poolside bar (the lady makes perfect wraps, I recommend that! what a nice snack with a drink). Everything is accessible from outside and the area connects to the beach and the ocean. Thus, the ocean is not good for swimming or any activities - too rough, stones and corals and shore break. Unfortunately, the pool closes at 10 pm and at dark, you can find yourself in jacuzzi with some local guys (because the property is not gated so everyone can come). They also have a small gym but we had not use it.

All together, we were very satisfied with the stay and not being nearly kick-out at the check-out (we were one hour late, called them but were threatened by a late fee), posting a pending sum equal to entire stay + $100 on a credit card (that was used for reservation not payment) and annoying concierge woman that got pissed that we didn't go through her to attractions (but we call directly there), I would rate this place 5/5.

This place is so quiet and great to stay. Very clean and the service from the help is excellent. Everything we asked for we got. The beach area is very nice and within walking distance of any room. The SVC staff is very nice and welcoming. The spa is great and offers wonderful massages.

Room Tip: you need an ocean view room to see the ocean. you can pretty much see it from any room.
