The hotel and property are average. Maybe we were jaded because we had just spent 7 days at a mega, luxe resort on Maui. Comfy, homey are words I would use to describe the Beachboy. Seems like lots of folks were there for the "long haul" time shares, judging by the enormous packs of papertowels, toilet paper, etc they were unloading from the trunks of their cars!
The concierge was extremely helpful in getting us discounted helicopter ride. She spend about 1 hour with us and was super friendly.
Can't say enough about the excellent restaurant on site. VERY REASONABLE prices for coctails, wine and food. The macadamia tart was the most satisfying dessert I had the entire trip!
The "mall" next door is very unsightly, many vacant storefronts and low end food stalls. I wish we had a car because I would have sought out different restaurants and activities.
Overall recommend for a low key, family feel. Definitely need a car on this island!
