“Fun Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

If you're looking for an immaculate, tight ship kind of operation, you might be disappointed in Kauai ATV. If you're looking for a laid back, fun and dirty day, you will be happy with them. You start off in a little house/shop where payments are verified, bandanas are handed out and basic questions are answered, more or less. Then you head a mile or two down the road where t-shirts and some very unfashionable and unattractive shorts are handed out....Who cares?? (If you do happen to care about looking super cute in your photos you can skip their clothing, but be prepared to throw away whatever you wear of your own....) It's a very casual, what-do-we-do-next atmosphere. A word of advice: Don't be put off by the filthy, banged up, scuffed, rough looking ATVs as I was. Once you see the grueling job they do, and the fun they provide, it won't matter a bit.

The guides were fun and the scenery beautiful. You bounce and get jostled, a LOT. You have to push the brakes far harder than in your own vehicle. You get dirtier than you think (we didn't look so bad but the water ran red in the shower later, and we Q-tipped dirt from our ears and noses for a couple of days.)

When you get to the waterfall, and it might be smaller than you anticipate, be brave and daring and jump in the water, no matter what. You will always treasure the picture of it. (But do NOT use the portapotties, no matter what. They are g-r-o-s-s!) The underground WWII bunker was interesting, so enjoy the uniqueness and fortune of getting to be there. My one small complaint was stopping to take group photos...I'm just not into that at all, although if you have a particularly fun group maybe you would like to have a keepsake of your group. I just wanted to drive, and the only pictures I cared about were of my own family.

Overall, a fun and memorable day that I will always recall with a smile....and a yearning to do it again!

“A fun time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

We had an 8am ATV waterfall tour with our guide Mikey and we had a fantastic time. Guide was knowledgeable and added humor into the stories he told. Thanks to Kauai ATV we were given shorts and shirts, which was much appreciated, so our own clothes didn't get ruined. We were also thankful to have the goggles and bandana to cover our faces. We enjoyed the ride on the ATV's, where were like brand new, only the second time they had been used. The waterfall was very pretty and although we did not jump in to it, some on our tour did and seemed to really enjoy the thrill. Lunch was simple, thankful it was provided. We did get really muddy and enjoyed it. More mud would always be an improvement! There are showers provided post tour, so bring a change of clothes and prepare to have a great time.

“Zip line tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

We went on the zip line tour on 3/16/2014 on a very windy day. Jordan and Shawn led the 11 of us aged 71 to 7 on a great tour. They are true professionals. In fact, they had our utmost safety in mind when the wind kicked up to 40+ miles an hour and eucalyptus trees began to snap in the wind. They got us to end of the tour safely during a hazardous situation. This a top notch tour with excellent visual and historical education opportunities. You will get to see and experience Kauai sugar cane processing area in a very fun and enjoyable activity. They provided drinks and snacks at the mid-point which was great. The only demerit is the amount of hiking and climbing required to get to some of the launch platforms. This activity would not be recommended for elderly participants or those with heart conditions. Overall, definitely worth the time and money.

“Second time was as good as the first time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Noah gave a great tour. They have added a few things since we went three years ago. We stopped and toured an underground bunker used during the war. Very interesting but they should warn you to watch your step over the roots on the dirt floor.

This is a very fun event you must do if staying on Kauai. Prepare to get dirty. It takes a long time to get the dust out of your ears. Great fun !
