Strawberry Guava Bed and Breakfast

My husband and I spent a few days in the suite at Stawberry Guava. It was a lucky suprise to find ourselves there after being displaced from our original B&B because of an overbooking mistake. It was our good fortune. We enjoyed our rooms that we expanded into over the two days. The breakfast were yummy....Ben, the owner, likes a good cup of coffee as much as I do and the pot was full when needed. It was also nice to have a mini frig available for our drinks and leftovers. We enjoyed eatting at the Kalaheo Cafe and Casa D'Amici while we were in town. The beds were really comfortable, and the pillows were nice, not too hard or too soft, just right. We enjoyed talking to Ben about local energy and conservation efforts that he is involved in. Traci was also warm and friendly. We felt very comfortable and would return on our next visit for sure. Thank you so much!

My wife and I stayed for one week in early May.
We wanted to stay in a quiet, rural setting, yet with convenient
access to the towns and other areas of the island.
The hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Ben
is quite knowledgeable about places to go and things to do.
The west facing rooms were comfortable and quiet, almost like being in a tree house.
The breakfasts were varied and delicious. The company of the
other guests was interesting and entertaining.
For people who like to take walks Kua Road is a very safe road
to walk on.
Be prepared to enjoy the ambiance of the famous Kauai chickens which are everywhere on the island. They add to the
experience.
When we return we will stay at the Strawberry Guava again.

“Delightful B&B!”

Strawberry Guava Bed and Breakfast

We stayed at Strawberry Guava B&B in April, 2008 during our visit to Kaua'i and had a delightful time there. The B&B is located in a quiet, lush and rural area, well away from the main road on a hillside with nice views. Arranged around a central courtyard area, the three guest rooms are extremely comfortable, with excellent beds, good chairs, nice linens, full baths and attractive furnishings. We had one bedroom with an attached living room suite and private bath, all of which were immaculately clean and well cared for. Breakfast is served in the courtyard, which also has a small refrigerator and coffee maker for guest use. Ben and Traci, the owners, made us feel instantly welcome and were an invaluable source of information about the area, what to do etc. We had an excellent full hot breakfast in the morning. Kalaheo, where Strawberry Guava is located, is an interesting community with a couple of good restaurants, and is a convenient place to stay while en route to the west coast of Kaua'i to visit such places as Waimea Canyon. Although one can make the trip to Waimea Canyon and back to Lihue or other points on the east and/or south coast of Kaua'i in one day, we found it worked well to stay in Kalaheo and we were pleased to do so at Strawberry Guava. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stay!

This place is set in a quiet, beautiful location with Kauai greenery all around. Our room was very simple but clean, comfortable enough and had a private bath. We slept well, and in the morning had a good breakfast on the deck with the other guests. In reaction to a former review - we were concerned about ‘the pump’ but didn’t hear any noise whatsoever. The kids were sweet and quiet, and did not seem to be bothering anyone. There was a small maintenance problem – the light in the bathroom needed to be changed. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and we would be happy to stay there again.

My wife and I stayed here last year and really had a wonderful time. In some ways it's a modest place -- you feel like you're staying at someone's home in a somewhat remote neighborhood, not like you're alone in paradise, but that comes with some real benefits: the hosts treated us like family. They were great -- good food, friendly, stayed out of the way when we wanted them to, helped in any way they could when we asked. OK -- maybe they're *better* than family!

In fact, they were so nice that I hesitate to go into detail for fear Traci and her fam will be exploited as servants -- suffice it to say that they made us feel very much at home -- not house, home.
