My husband and I honeymooned at HCR, and we absolutely loved it! What a great place to wind down after all of the wedding and reception activities. We had a cottage that was 10 feet from the beach, where we had the lovely sound of breaking waves all day and night. The view was amazing, and the beach is pretty empty. You just see a few folks walking there but it's never crowded. Our room was spacious and clean. And it was such a quiet stay. We absolutely loved hanging out and reading, walking on the beach and relaxing. You will definitely need a car if you plan on doing some sightseeing or other activities. The day spa is also very nice at HCR. I would pass on the restaurant there. It wasn't a bad meal, just not great. And there are plenty of really good places to eat down the highway (Postcards is amazing!).
Also, this place is unplugged: no TV, Internet or phones in the rooms. So if you're looking for modern accommodations, then you may want to pass on this and go to Princeville.
