“fantastic condo and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2010

We stayed in one of these condos for 5 days and were consistently pleased. The condo was very clean, up to date, and well maintained. The service office in the adjacent Kings Shoppes was very responsive. The condo was well equipped and it was wonderful having the washer dryer in the unit. The elevator really helped with moving our suitcases in and out of the unit. My only complaint was the extremely early morning lawn maintenance that took place some mornings (predawn) on the adjacent golf course. I would come back here.

We stayed at Waikoloa Beach Villas in a unit owned by friends and rented through VRBO. We got a high season rate of $179 per night for a unit with lots of upgrades and a view of the lake on the golf course. The top floor windows catch the breezes (they put a screen at the front door for great cross-drafts) so we minimized our use of AC, which I prefer, the elevator makes it easy when you're carrying bags or groceries, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a variety of meals, and the lanai with its grill and sink was almost a second kitchen. The kitchen could feel crowded if more than one person is cooking, but that's reall a nit-pick about what was otherwise a lovely unit. A few units have replaced the entry pass-thru and little desk-height counter in the kitchen with an island which fixes that problem. Baths are spacious, we had designated parking with nearby spaces for friends who visited, and easy access to the great beach at A Bay. Our sray was very quiet. Seriously, we'd consider living here.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2009

Recently stayed in a 2 BR/2 Bath condo at the Waikoloa Beach Villas for a week in early May 2009. Rented thru vrbo. Owner was pleasant to deal with. The condo was spacious except for the second bedroom which was rather small. Stayed on the second floor which I would recommend since the views of the golf course are better than on the first floor. Most of our time at the condo was spent on the large lanai overlooking the golf course. We ate breakfast and lunch on the lanai every day and some dinners too. The BBQ was great and a selling point to me for renting at the WBV. It is amazing how much amusement you can get watching very poor golfers!!

There are 2 pools which are attractive but rather small - can't swim laps in them. But the water was warm and we spent part of every day at the pool.

I don't know why there aren't more reviews for the WBVs. They are fairly new - about 2-3 years old. Looking thru vrbo all I viewed were nicely furnished. The grounds are lovely. Location is very good. Across the street from the Queen's Marketplace. and first group of condos as you enter the Waikoloa Beach Resort. I think all of the condos have a garage and some also have driveways. Ours had a garage with a private driveway which was very nice. Those without a driveway you have to park in the garage since the garages face each other with no parking space between them.

Beautiful pool/simple gym/amazing condo

Around expensive shops, but if you drive a bit further away from the King/Queen shops --- about a 15 min drive... there is another much more inexpensive supermarket (in general everything is pretty pricey for food though)

close drive to the black beaches, but that beach can be rocky/pebbly. buy some aqua shoes from walmart/kmart and you should be ok to walk in the water.. the petroglyphs are nearby, but can be a quick 1 hr visit.... the other beach-- hapuna ? is a better bet....

i was surprised by the condo as it is very new, you should see if you can request a condo w/ grill in the backyard... it makes a difference.

First, I read the reviews for Waikoloa Fairway Villas. I think most if not all reviews for FV belong to this section, the Waikoloa Beach Villas. Even the pics look like BV.

Anyways, hands down this is the least expensive of all the waikoloa properties and hotels. Its the first set of condos after the main entrance. Conveniently located near the main freeway, and kings/queens shops. This a gated community and each unit has a beautiful driveway (shaped liked molten lava) and garage. Landscaping is well maintained and lush of local plants.

These are 2 bedroom and 2 bath condos. The owners of the units have added the upgrades and decor. Our unit, was set up with beautiful berber carpet, granite slab counter tops (kitchen and bath), stainless steel appliances (all cooking pots and utensils incl), crown molding, 2 flat screen LCD, wifi, stereo, dvd player, glass dining table, fans in each room, A/C and lanai table/chairs. The master bedroom is better than my own home. Large sleeping area with king size bed. Walk in closet with tons of space. Double sink with large counter top for your junk. Side by side tub and shower. The owner has upgraded the bath with granite walls and stone tiles in shower (nice touch). The best part of this unit is the lanai. It overlooks the golf course and has a Viking grill. Also, I have to add the pots in this unit were high end, non stick. We stayed at a time share for Marriott with full equip kitchens and they provided cheap stainless steel cookware.

Overall cant beat this vs a hotel in kona. Also, I did my research and none of the rental condos compare to these villas. One thing to note, not all units have the above amenities. Some have beach equipment as we did not. Some units have the kings pass which greatly reduces your greens fee to $50-75. Some units are not nicely decorated as outs.

good: walls are thick for privacy, grill in lanai.
bad: small pool, no view of ocean

Also, each unit is either managed by a property manager or uprivate owner. I have to say our PM (kelli, philippa, kim, tony and ingrid from resortica hawaii) was very helpful and convenient with our personal needs! They worked hard and efficiently when loose ends came up!

I didnt post any pics, but if you look at the waikoloa fairway villas post, it's the similar if not the same.

We were searching for an inexpensive place to stay for a quick trip to Hawaii. After much searching, we found the Waikoloa Beach Villas in the Waikoloa Resort Area through Outrigger's Condominium Collection. Outrigger offered a special "Introductory Rate" for these condos. When we inquired the Outrigger told us that the rate was $179 per night + tax and that the discount was due to the ongoing construction in the development but that the pool was completed and open.

We booked the unit needing only a valid credit card to guarantee the reservation. No cash deposit required.

With that said, the development was still under construction. However, the construction is confined to the the northeast portion of the complex. Our unit (F-33) was near the southwest of the development. The construction noise was non-existent and a non-factor during our stay.

The unit (F33) was a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo overlooking the King's Trail and golf course. The unit had 1 king bed in the master and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. The master bathroom had a walk-in closet, water closet, separate bath and shower and dual vanity sinks, granite countertops and marble tile througout. The second bathroom had a combination tub and shower, granite countertops and marble tile.

The kitchen came fully stocked with plates, utensild, pots pans, rice cooker, salt pepper, knives, kitchen utensils, placemats, napkins, coffeemaker, etc. The only thing we needed to provide was food. (Refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer, naturally)

The living room had a sofa, two chairs, a 50 inch plasma television , with cable tv hookup, and high speed internet access (via ethernet cable) available to use.

The pool area has a lava rock surround and a six inch wading area on one end. The one drawback is that the pool is adjacent to Waikoloa Beach Drive and you can hear the noise from the road.

Outrigger provided six beach towels for us to use during our stay, however, these towels are not replenished and must be washed during your stay. It wasn't a problem for us but some people may not want to deal with it.

Unit F33 also came with a garage to park in.

The complex was quiet and serene and only a short walk to the King's Shop which has both restaurants and a small general store. Further, King's Shops provides free entertainment nightly at 6pm.

One thing to mention is that Outrigger provided WEEKLY maid service to the Waikoloa Beach Villas. The unit contained enough clean towels, extra toiletries to sustain three people for a 6 night stay.

Outrigger will replenish your supplies (including laundry detergent) with a quick phone call to their office. This wasn't a problem for us at all but some people may prefer daily maid service.

All in all...we had an excellent stay and I would happily stay there again! We highly recommend it!
