During our stay at Waikoloa Beach the first week of December, another couple suggested we try the Waikoloa Beach Grill, and are we glad that we did.
The restaurant is located within walking distance from the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort and also quite close to the Hilton Waikoloa Village. It has a comfortable bar and the dining room is tastefully decorated with paintings from a local artist.
Our meal started with their crab cakes which was primarily crab and not filler. The freshness of the crab was obvious. The presentation was also both classy and tasty.
My wife enjoyed her lamb chops, which were cooked exactly as she requested. I had their smoked pork chop which was like none other I had ever had. As their menu states, and because the chop is smoked, it has a flavor reminincent of fresh baked
ham, yet you know immediately that your eating something much more complex in flavor and texture. Presentations of each of these dishes was above the norm.
Not to be overlooked was the warm and friendly staff...from the bartender to Chef David who came out from the kitchen and took a personal interest in our dining experience. Lastly, the desserts we had were second to none and a pleasant way to end our meal. I have attached a picture so you can see the artistry for yourself. And it tasted even better than it looks.
Our only regret was discovering this place on our last night in Hawaii. We will be back in six months, so don't change a thing!
I recently went to the Waikoloa Beach Grill for dinner and I must say that it was an awesome experience. The chefs, to our understanding had defected from the Hilton just down the road and boy what a great move! The food was so flavorful and it was so flavorful that you won't find any salt and pepper shakers on the table! What ever you do, you must must must must must try the Macadamia Nut Pie, a personal favorite! The Beach Grill's ambience is cozy with a nice view of the golf course. The service is great and if you ever get the chance, see Denise, our server for the evening. She was informative and quite pleasant which is a nice change from the typical, "what'ya havin'?!". As I mentioned before, it's located at the golf course with ample parking. They serve lunch and dinner there and reasonably priced! This restaurant gets two thumbs up in our books.
