“Beautiful worth seeing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Kind of crowed but it was worth dealing with all the people. Beautiful and the turtles were easy to see. You should plan a stop here when you go to Volcano National Park. I wish I would have brought my snorkeling gear.

“Hot sand, cool breezes & good snorkeling:)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

This beach is almost deserted on weekdays. You need to get a beach pass from security and pass thru a few gates to get to a parking lot with only 20 spaces. Don't let that deter you from going, if its full come another day, because you will be rewarded with a VERY quiet beach of salt & pepper sand that has amazing snorkeling. On the day we went, 9-11-13, we had the pleasure of snorkeling with a family of eagle rays & got to see them playing in the surf. There is a lot of interesting coral & an abundance of colorful reef fish. The sand is uber hot, wear water shoes & enter towards the right for less shore surge. This beach rocks!!
