The only upside to this event were the singers and dancers...they truly put their all into their performance, they had smiles on their faces, they worked hard and it showed…hat's off to this crew!
That said, eat before you go because the food is nothing short of terrible...the steak was the toughest, fattiest cut I had seen in a long time...the imu-cooked pork was dry and cold...the sides were unimpressive and excessively "mayonnaised”…the only decent option was the chicken, which was flavorful and moist. As for drinks, do your best to smuggle in whatever you fancy, the alcoholic options are the cheapest no-name brands available and the juices, should you opt in that direction, are completely lacking of any natural ingredients whatsoever.
As to the crafts/dance lessons before the dinner, they were as expected…typical dance steps, “native look” tattoos and weaving palm fronds…but, question, given that palm fronds are essentially free, why did they run out so quickly and have to turn away so many people who were interested in weaving…odd.
