Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

“Very good - but not what I expected in Hawaii”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Ok- we were staying in Volcano while visiting the National park. Our innkeeper recommended the Kilauea Lodge. Ok, its strength seems to be Central European cooling so we went with the flow. I ordered a sausage platter (a special of the day) and my wife had the rack of lamb. Both were absolutely terrific. The service was quite attentive.

Not a meal we expected in Hawaii, but a meal we would have been quite pleased with anywhere that we have traveled.

“Best of terrible options?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Terrible. If this is the best restaurant in Volcano, then you should keep moving along and get out of the area. Hunter soup had a miniscule amount of meat, and it was heavily seasoned with oregano which was not tasty. Duck entree was clearly microwaved and not worth it. Veg entree was sub-par and again heavy on the oregano. Also, fresh bread was served and the bottom of the crust smelled strongly of rancid oil. Our served whisked it away when we told her, and she never mentioned another word about it, and never replaced it.

“Very good dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

Although not really crowded, it took a while for our order to be taken but once in, service was good. We enjoyed our dinners - prime rib and lobster ravioli along with homemade bread and dessert. The cherry cobbler was especially yummy! A bit pricey ($105 for two dinners, two desserts, split salad - no alcoholic drinks) but best food around Volcano

“The best place we have eaten in Hawaii”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

Such fantastic food! And the wait staff were very attentive both times we visited. We have eaten both dinner and breakfast now. Prices are definitely up there but seem in range for the quality of food. The place is absolutely spotless and the atmosphere is perfect. Highly recommended.
