“Need to return when it is not raining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

We visited as part of a tour. We had a rainy day which made things not a good as l think it could have been. Will return one day when it is not raining. The place is set up great. Lots of things inside the main building to se and learn. The view of the crater was poor due to the rain. The place is set up great.

“Kid friendly and informative.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Well worth a trip to the crater, and worth coming back to see the glow of the lava lake at night. The interpretive talk given by the park ranger was interesting, informative and delivered in an engaging manner. Exhibits were well done. No fee for the museum, but park entrance is $10. You can leave for dinner and come back without paying again, and your ticket is good for a week. Definitely a great value.

“Great Views of the Crater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Best views of the steam coming out of the crater, I'd recommend going at night to see the reflection of the lava in the steam. If you do go at night dress appropriately as it gets cold due to the altitude.

“After Dark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Great place to view the volcano at night. They measure all the earthquakes that take place on the island there and from other places. All the park rangers are very informative.

“Right by the Volcano & Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

The Thomas A. Jagger Museum is worth a visit if you decide to visit Volcano National Park on the Big Island.
The museum is small, but full of good information. There is also a small gift shop on premises that has numerous fun gifts.
