“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed only one night here but the owners, Ray and Lani, were so sweet and very helpful in giving us direction on the best hikes to take in the park. They are very conveniently located to the park and it made it super convenient to head out early for a day of hiking. This is a bed and breakfast and you stay in their home in one of their bedrooms. Although it felt a little too intimate at first, once I realized that they are on the other side of the house in a separate area, it felt private and comfortable. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend them.

I would like to say a big thank you for having us at your home in Volcano.

I enjoyed coming back to this secluded part of the island after going out and spending all day looking at the Volcano National Park.

The room was of good size, the bed was very comfortable - we also were happy to find the electric blanket on when we came home after a very cold and rainy day!

Room Tip: I recommend getting the room with the ensuite.

This is THE place to go if you want to stay close to the volcanoes area. It is litteraly 5 minutes drive from the park entrance (which is fantastic to arrive early and stay until late for the crater night viewing).

This B&B has it all:
Very quiet as located at the end of the road (!), on a large property. Only 2 bedrooms so you get to have all the attention you want
The rooms are extremely clean and welcoming; we stayed 2 nights and felt like we were at home. I wish we stayed longer.
You can choose what you want for breakfast from a list handed out the previous night.
The owners are a very lovely couple who will share all the information you need to make the best of your stay.
At last the room are very well price, inexpensive I could even say for the area and the level of service.
I would recommend this B&B to anyone!
If you plan to arrive late at night, I would suggest calling or contacting the owners.
Enjoy your stay.

A lovely little place homely and great hosts. Ideal place to stay for exactly what we wanted, that was a base close to Volcano NP so we could explore in the evening and start off early. Such quiet surrounds and was bliss. Rooms were clean and tidy, plenty of towels & supplies. Wifi was just what we needed as well. Breakfast was continental with a choice made the night before, and was plenty for what was needed for the day & Ray was very informative and could of talked to him all day long with such interesting travelling stories.

We stayed only one night, during a visit to the National Park. The B&B is very conveniently located, just a short drive from the entrance of the park. The hosts were really helpful: they even made a call to researve for us at a restaruant nearby. The room is in perfect state, with a full supply of towels and accessories. WIFI works just fine, and the house is in a large property, so it was really quiet during the night.
Breakfast was OK: continental type, with a few choices.
I highly recommend this place: excellent value - not a "boutique B&B with gourmet breakfast", but definitely a good place to stay

My friends and I stayed in this bed and breakfast for two nights. We had wonderful time. The room was very comfortable and clean. The whole place was quiet and the surrounding was so serene. The owner was very helpful on tips on what to do and see in the Volcano area, and he served breakfast to all of us in the morning while engaging us in interesting conversations.
We will definitely stay here again if/when we do come back to Big Island. We highly recommend the place to friends and family. Don't be discouraged by the route to get to the house. It is the countryside so it is pitch black after the sun down.
