We feel so lucky that Chris had room for our one night in the Pahoa / Red Road area. We were a last-minute booking but Chris was all "no problems" and the price was more than right!! I hesitate to even write what we paid in the event he decides to charge more because he certainly could. There are four units at the Inn and we stayed in #1 which has two bedrooms and a living room area. Very comfortable beds, nice sheets and quilts. Adorable and simple Hawaii decor. Shared baths, showers and kitchen but right there so not a problem at all. Everything super clean. This area is ultra tropical and jungly so sounds of frogs and crickets along with rain showers is what you'll hear. I find this relaxing and slept like a rock but if sound bothers you while sleeping, bring earplugs. The location is dynamite, just 8 miles down Hwy 132 from Pahoa and barely 2 miles from the coast where there are some wonderful places to explore ... Kapoho Tide Pools! Hot Pond next to ocean! Be sure to drive all the way down the Red Road and check out Robert's at the end right next to where Kalapana used to be. Fascinating. Loved this area! Fyi, we actually found Kapoho Village Inn listed in an old copy of Lonely Planet and later learned that Chris had not been open for awhile. Hope you...More
