After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor I knew I had to make reservations for lunch otherwise I wouldn't get lunch. This isn't a "restaurant" per se it's a small operation that prepares home cooked type meals for the amount of reservations made. No more, no less. During our lunch several people walked in expecting to be seated but were turned away. Smart for a business to ensure no food is wasted!
That said, this was a treat for me. Traveling with 4 men I wanted to do something that didn't involve sports. This was a real treat and the men actually enjoyed this activity. We drove about 1-1/2 hours from Kamuela. Our lunch was delicious. We started out with a shrimp mousse, followed with greens grown on the farm and dressed with a raspberry vinaigrette. We had delicious potatoes with a garam marsala vanilla spice and a chicken sandwich with a mango vanilla chutney and a vanilla bbq sauce. We enjoyed vanilla lemonade and vanilla arnold palmers and finished with a delicious vanilla ice cream with lilikoi sauce. All the food was prepared with some form of vanilla.
Family run, one of the demonstrating chefs was their 11 year old son Aidan. You would swear he was a grown up. Mature and social and knowledgeable! Ian the oldest son gave us our "farm" tour. He was informative and at 19 years old really truly knew the business.
I highly recommend this tour and definitely the lunch but be sure you make reservations!
