“snorleling with mantas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We did an evening manta snorkel with this company 2 nights ago in Kona Hawaii. They did an amazing job! From fitting the group with wet suits, tales of the mantas, friendly staff,we only have nothing but praise. Very organized, on time.A woman passenger had a medical emergency, which the staff managed well. There was an ambulance at the dock when we arrived back to transport the woman to the hospital.Joy was funny, informative, all staff were great!!! Were were able to put the sails up briefly and sail without the motor .The catamarran was beautiful and sailed smoothly. Stairway entrance on and off was easy to get inthe water.Ample parking>Jenny the Manta thrilled us with her aerobics, you can't imagine the rush! so close many times we could've touched her!

“Excellent experience with Manta Rays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Sea Paradise

We booked the night snorkeling with Manta Rays tour in February 2013. You check in at the Sea Paradise store around 30 minutes before the boat departure time, after signing a waiver you are fitted out for a wet suit.

You then drive to the bay where the boat is located - there is plenty of free parking in the area. We boarded the boat at 6:30pm and were given a safety briefing by Dane the captain. Lauren then gave us some juice as well as information about what we can expect from the night and information on Manta Rays.

We set sail - it took around 5 minutes to get to the mooring point for the Manta Rays - it's really not very far from the shore. We were then given our snorkel masks, tubes and noodles.

Once in the water you hold onto a large floating device which has the lights attached to it to attract the Manta Rays - the noodle you are given is then placed underneath your legs to keep your legs up out of the water (so not to kick the Mantas). You just float there and wait for the Manta Rays to appear. We did have quite a swell in the ocean that night and the floating device does dip down a bit in the ocean but nothing to worry about - if you have not snorkelled before I would recommend snorkelling in the daytime first to get yourself used to it.

Chase & Lauren (the crew) worked really hard and take really good care of you - they move the floating device to where the Manta's are. Once the Manta Rays appear it is amazing, something I have never experienced before - they are so close it feels like they will touch you but obviously they don't. It was simply incredible to witness these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. It's an experience we will never forget and we would absolutely do it again.

All in all Sea Paradise were brilliant, at no time did we feel unsafe and the team worked really hard to ensure we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

“All around good time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We went out on a morning snorkel tour to the captain cook monument with these guys and have had nothing but good things to say since that day. It was one of the first things we did on our trip and it set a great tone for the whole thing. The sights were amazing with lots of interesting fish to see and i was even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an octopus. The crew was friendly and helpful and great at sharing their knowledge with you. We even got to have a rare encounter with the Humpbacks as they swam right under the boat! I will definitely being doing more tours with this great company on my next trip :)

“morning snorkel and Night Manta Ray snorkel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We really enjoyed both of these events. This is a really nice boat with lots of outside seating. The crew was great and the company was very understanding when we had a medical emergency and had to cancel/reschedule. The first morning snorkeling stop at Captain Cooks was excellent, the second stop had few fish and the water was very turbulent, not really worth it. Breakfast was Costco muffins and pastries and pineapple and lunch was unremarkable sandwich fixings. The snacks at the night Manta Ray swim looked like leftover Hallooween candy, chips and pop. This did not detract from either trip for me, but if the food is important, just realize it is basic.

“Captain Cook by day,Manta Rays by night with Sea Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

On Feb. 6 my wife and I joined Capt. Phil and Dane on the morning snorkel trip to Capt. Cook. The ride to there was amazing as the humpback whales were very active and Capt. Phil stopped many times for photos. The Capt. Cook snorkeling was incredible with crystal clear water and a large variety of fish. Food,Drink.Facilities were very good. Enjoyed the day trip so much we went back to their office and booked the Night Manta Ray trip for that evening. It was the most amazing snorkel experience we have ever had. A must do activity-The Night Manta Ray Trip. Sea Paradise has safe, good value trips that should not be missed while on the Big Island.
