“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

We sampled many different coffees, and ended up purchasing some. I learned so much about the coffee production. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The whole process lasted about 1.5 hours. Good experience, even in the rain.

“Greenwell Farms - KONA Coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Last May, my husband and I traveled to Hawaii, our first visit to Hawaii, the Big Island. We stopped to tour the Greenwell farms. The tour guide was very knowledgeable; the coffee we tasted was delicious. I bought a bag of the KONA chocolate hazelnut whole coffee beans to bring back to the states. I enjoyed it so much that I recently ordered a 1-pound bag of the same KONA coffee, on-line, from Greenwell Farms.

“Learn a bit about your morning cup of Joe!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

If you are a coffee drinker (who isn't???), then you would surely be interested in how fabulous Kona coffee goes from plant to cup. This casual but informative tour takes only about 30 minutes and is well worth the time. Your guide will tell you a bit of how the Greenwell family began growing Kona coffee, you'll even see some of the original coffee bean plants that were planted by the Greenwell family matriarch well over 100 years ago!

You will see the coffee bean plants, the small drying and processing facility, and even get to open up a coffee bean "cherry" to see the raw seeds inside. Very interesting!

The grounds are lush and planted with a variety of tropical flowers and fruits (banana and pineapple) and a gorgeous monkey pod tree. The orange tree outside the gift shop/tasting patio was host to several chameleons which delighted us all!

Don't leave before tasting the various 100% Kona coffee brews. Our sister bought us a wonderful bag of the mac-nut flavored coffee...we can't wait to rip into the bag! They are all delicious, but the macnut is the BEST!!!

“Caffeine High”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

The free tour was very informative and lasted about 30 minutes. We could sample many types of coffee before and after the tour and drink as much as we wanted. In fact, they said we could bring our own mugs anytime we were in the neighborhood and fill them up! The coffee is SO GOOD you will want to dink it black. We liked the chocolate macnut the best. Wanted to try Peaberry but they were out and wouldn't have any more of this rare type until Nov. We ended up buying the choc macnut here and then found Peaberry whole beans at a Walmart in Kona. This stuff is expensive but is the best coffee we've ever enjoyed. Open 8:30-4:30 7 days
