Lonn the resident owner has lived on the Big Island since 1974. He built the house himself and planted and tends the 500 coffee plants on the property. We heard wild pig and turkeys and saw pheasants. The property is comfy and beautiful, we felt at home. Lonn should be proud of this place! Ask about the prints in the room and be sure to check out the big book on the coffee table in the sitting area. Doogie the dog and Knucklehead the cat had the best New Years ever with us. I was worried Knucklehead might OD from the Ahi but she survived. Thanks Lonn for your hospitality, friendship, your cooking tips and for putting together this slice of paradise. The breakfasts were outstanding, Lonn is and was a chef. The Portuguese sweetbread French toast and carmelized apples with pecans, the spanish omelet with homemade chorizo and the crispy fried potatoes, the quiche and the fresh squeezed oj from the trees on the property. The cup of Kona joe ala Lonn Valdez still lingers in my mind. (We were there for three days!) Stay here, you will love it!
