While Kona's a bit hectic for our taste -- way more development than we normally enjoy -- we found our week with Lonn to be exactly the respite we'd hoped to find on that otherwise busy island.
As others report, the hospitality is unparalleled, the breakfasts unforgettable, and the quarters comfortable, spacious, nicely decorated, and well equipped with a mini-fridge and whirlpool tub (plus separate shower, big enough for two!).
The wireless network is steady, reliable; the view, unsurpassed. Best of all, however, is the location, high in the hills at 1500 feet or so. Nights are cool, breezy -- perfect sleeping weather -- and the design of the two suites allow for cross-ventilation that makes the daytimes comfortable (something we don't always find in B&Bs, and certainly never in budget motels). A long, shaded deck separates the two suites, providing all the privacy one might desire.
We can't say enough good things about Lonn's hospitality; the ambiance is casual, relaxed, yet conscientious and thoughtful. The space is, of course, immaculate.
Did we mention that our host grows and picks his own coffee, which he serves to guests?
We'll be back -- ideally, with good friends who'll rent the other suite. As far as we're concerned, this is the best B&B we've ever visited, and we've visited many.
