“Yummy good for all types of eaters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We've eaten breakfast and lunch here and both were great. Very tropical and relaxing ambiance. From the excellent hamburgers to the amazing pancakes it was all good. Lots of choices for veggie eaters, too. We had a small reception and they handled the 24 of us quite we'll. totally worth the short drive up to Holualoa and enjoy all the local art galleries while you are there. Looking forward to trying dinner here some evening.

“A great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

The outdoor garden setting was nice and the food was cooked fresh with no problems with substitutions or alterations. The service was friendly and found answers for all of our questions.

“Awesome in Every Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

To try to limit my words to less than 100 may be difficult. From the setting, to the food, to the service. This place steps out of the box. Your service will take a while. They may only have one chef doing all the cooking. Your meal is cooked fresh. The menu is based on what was fresh at the market that day. If you go in the evening you may hear the Coqui Frogs chirp. Its magical like so much of The Big Island. This is a date night must do. Guys!! Trust me this is the place. If you go at night the ladies may want a light sweater the mountain air is cool. The seating is all outside. The walls are Hawaiian tropical foliage. The roof is exposed beams with tiny white lights all over. Many times you can smell the aroma of the smoker out back slow cooking the next nights dishes. I cant wait for my next visit in the fall. The location is a short drive from Kona up the mountain. Enjoy!!!

We had Sunday "lunch" which was amazing even arriving at 2pm. Excellent atmosphere and the food was excellent. If you're looking for great food off the beaten track, I recommend this one.

“Great food and setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

Lovely setting with whimsical garden outlook the Holuakoa Cafe is worth the visit. The food uses a range of local produce and is very fresh and after a lot of heavy meals it was very refreshing to eat clean, healthy and tasty food. The service was friendly and knowledgeable.

As we were staying across the road at the divine Holualoa Inn we visited twice first for dinner and the following day for lunch.

Dinner was on a quiet Monday night. We shared a brie and grilled bruschetta which was stunning....3 lovely char grilled pieces of bread with small wedges of a very good brie sitting on top of balsamic glaze. The rib eye I wanted was unavailable and our waitress recommended the brisket. This came with lovely range of vegetables and the brisket was tender and well cooked. I was expecting it to have more of a sauce or flavour so wasn't quiet to my taste but was well cooked. My partners tenderloin was more on the money for me and I had a case of food envy. Desert was very good.

Lunch and the cafe was much more busy...we arrived around 2 PM for a late lunch. There were about 10 tables and only one server, she was very friendly and good natured but clearly run off her feet. We both had burger which were well cooked and instead of fries case with a very tasty potato salad.
