“Excellent whale watching experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

We took our whale watching trip in March 2014. Captain Dan and his crew made the experience
even better. Gave us lots of information on what we were going to see. There were so many whales, spouting, breeching really putting on a show. We saw spinner dolphins also. The boat was comfortable, crew was great and there were some simple snacks and drinks served. We have a really nice experience.

“Pretty good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

We booked this trip at the last minute and didn't research costs of any other whale boats. We chose this company based on the experience of the Captain (and their very slick 4 page advertising in a tourism brochure). Very knowledgable Captain and crew. This trip was taken towards the end of March so there were very few whales still left in the area. After 2 hours of cruising we finally saw 3 humpbacks and spent about a half hour observing and following them. We chose seats on the top deck and had no problems being able to have access at the railings of the boat for camera shots. We've whale watched in British Columbia and Washington State with many fantastic sightings of humpbacks and Orcas and this trip in Hawaii though not as plentiful with whales, was certainly entertaining if you haven't seen whales before.

“Great time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014 via mobile

Capt. Dan and his crew are great. Very informative and professional. We had a good trip seeing a bunch of whales and a few dolphins. The ride alone is beautiful and the whale sightings are the icing on the cake!

“Whale Watching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

My sister and I were vacationing on the Big Island the last week of February 2014 and wanted to see whales. We learned things about whales that we had not heard before on whale watching excursions from Maui on a previous vacation. We were told about the male whales' singing and actually heard it when they dropped the mic below the boat. We were also told how to time photographs of the whales' breaching (mostly tails) although I did not try to take any photos. It was a good trip!

“Very experienced guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

We took the trip at the end of February, which should be a good time of the year. We did see some whales but were not too lucky with the coming really close to the ship. Overall, we are not sure whether taking a cruise from Maui might be the better option.

Nevertheless, the cruise was extremely well organized. Captain McSweeney is experienced far over usual level; you could feel he is actually excited about what he does rather than just driving nagging tourists arround. He also was very patient and thereby helped with some spottings.

If you like whale watching, or if you consider doing it for the first time, this cruise is a recommendation.

The snacks on board are nice (as long as you are not really hungry), beverages were a bit short.
