“Always Enjoy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

What isn't to like about Cafe 100? Consistent local food and excellent Loco Moco's. Always make a stop here. Very popular with locals. Lots of parking and very affordable.

“Where the locals eat”

It's good, it's fast and it's easy to get to. All local food and lots of it. Prices very reasonable.

“Home of the famous Loco Moco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Quick service with big menu on offer. Had the original 'Loco Moco' which was cheap but very tasty - can see why it's so popular with the local students. Easy to find and lots of parking out the front of the open-air dining area.

“Cheap, hot and greasy = yum!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Needed breakfast the last morning of a visit to Hilo. Knew where this was from a prior trip and it was on the "go back there and eat there" list.

Had the breakfast with two eggs, 4 strips bacon and 2 slices of toast. With coffee, way under $10. Toast had been 'buttered' with margarine, but you got jelly to add to it if you wanted to. Used the extra napkins to pull the grease off the bacon, which was a thin sliced kind. Also shoyu (soy sauce) and ketchup to doctor your eggs were given in small packets.

I always have digestive enzymes with me, so no side effects of all the grease (and fake grease - margarine) later in the morning. Would go back to do their lunch or dinner menu on another trip.

“Great place for a quick hearty meal!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Cafe 100 is a great place hidden away from the mainstream restaurants of Hilo. This is the place to sit outside (under a covering - it is in Hilo after all!), or get take out. They have great basic Hawaiin food. Fish dinners (yes - they grill too, not just fried), burgers, loco moco, etc. The food is plentiful, good and fast. They do get busy at times though so I've found it best to go off the normal 12 - 1 lunch hour. As for the heartburn comment from another reviewer...as with anywhere, if you are going to order all fried food that's your problem. They do have plenty of meal choices that aren't fried.
