On the last night of our stay, my girlfriend and I stopped in for what we found to be a fantastic meal! There was live music, great atmosphere, outstanding service, and most of all a great meal! Well worth every cent!

While on the Big Island in November, 2012, my fiancé spent most of our time on the west side of the island but made sure to venture to the east side and check out Hilo. By the time we arrived, we were both very hungry for lunch and remembered reading positive reviews about Cafe Pesto in our guidebook.

The restaurant was easy to find and we were seated right away, despite being busy during the lunch hour on a weekday. I'm gluten intolerant and so my fiancé avoids gluten by default. We were both disappointed to find that the menu was extremely limited for both of us. Though tempted by the signature pizzas that Cafe Pesto is known for, a gluten-free crust option was not available. We both ended up ordering a crisp salad with local, fresh-caught tuna and a Hilo Sunrise beverage on the side. Our meals were undoubtedly delicious and the service was friendly and full of smiles.

Had the menu been a bit more varied or adjustable, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to return to Cafe Pesto next time I'm in Hilo. However, I think on our next visit we'll search for something else to try instead.

We had a light supper at Cafe Pesto last evening. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was friendly. We enjoyed one pasta dish which was delicious and one calamari appetizer which was very good and enough for a meal. Prices are a bit steep for quanity but quality is there. Enjoyed our meal.

Pizza's are always good and crust is delicious. Pasta's and fresh fish are a sure bet as well. Only thing that is sub par is Caesar salad dressing, it seems bottled. All other salads are worth a try.
