“A week in paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2005

It was more like staying in a New England Inn then a B&B. We had our own outside entrance, our own bathroom and an excellent breakfast. Each morning brought fresh fruit and often times a fruit that was new and unusual, two selections of hot breads and wonderful coffee. Our hostess, Lory was very helpful with information of local activities and even loaned us floats for swimming and flashlights so that we could explore a lava tube. For a serene vacation don't miss staying at the Old Hawaiian B&B.

This is a really lovely B&B, and Lory and Stewart are top notch, gracious hosts. I was totally spoiled during my 8-day stay in the Sunrise room. All 3 guest units are nicely decorated and very clean. Lory is an exceptional cook, and the breakfasts are truly the best I've ever had (be prepared to gain a few pounds, 'cause it's really difficult to stop eating)! It's conveniently located yet has a secluded feeling about it, since it's right on the river. A very relaxing and fun experience. I can't wait for a return visit.

We stayed one night in the Hawaiian Room. The room was spacious and clean. The only negative thing I would say about this B & B is regarding their bath towels. We had three people staying in the room and we were only provided with 2 bath towels, 2 wash clothes and 1 hand towel. We usually recieve one full set of towels per person, so this was odd. Especially since it was very wet and humid the night we stayed, so in the morning our towels were still wet from the night before. The towels were also faded, stained and fraying on the edges. This B & B needs to invest in some new, high quality bath towels and provide more towels to their guests.

The breakfast was definitely the best part of our stay. It was presented beautifully and it was fresh and delicious.
