We decided to give Lucy's a try and it just didn't work for us. The staff was very nice however!
After we made our selections from a sort of complicated menu board and had ordered at the counter, we were given a plate of chips and salsa. The salsa was so hot (spicy) that we could barely put more than a drop on each chip, and we usually love salsa!
Although we had to order at the counter, bus our own table and get extra salsa and condiments on our own, our food was brought out by a friendly staff member.
At the condiment refill station, I quickly found that if you wanted Cilantro, it was only served chopped superfinely with similarly chopped raw onions. Cilantro was not available by itself, I learned after inquiring, only with the raw onions. As a Cilantro lover, that was a disappointment. In addition, I was advised that the mildest salsa was the one that we had been given in the first place, so the two other salsas available at the condiment station were out of the question.
With the choice of serving too hot salsa and situations like the Cilantro, I supposed the reason was for the restaurant to save money on things that are included with your meal. I would have paid for Cilantro and had a better experience.
The Nachos and giant burrito that we shared were both tasty, but again, Cilantro and tasty mild salsa would have made it a much better lunch.
Finally, the music playing over speakers in the restaurant was so loud it was upsetting. Music was possibly authentic Mexican music, but was so lively and loud, I felt like I was at a live circus.
