“Visit this amazing zoological garden!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

This is as beautiful a tropical paradise as I have ever seen - and I've seen a few!!! There are (many) beautiful exotic plants there that you have never seen. It is peaceful and clean. There are also a pair of lizards there named Mr.&Mrs. Pickles!

“Makes kids happy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Yes, the zoo is a bit dated but the kids didn't care - they had a blast at the petting zoo and seeing all of the animals. For the adults, the gardens are amazing! Not to mention the zoo is FREE! Wow! It is a nice place to spend a couple of hours.

“Fun, free zoo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

Surprising little zoo. Lots to see. Watched Namaste, the fifteen year old Bengal tiger, eat lunch. Enjoyed the monkeys and talking birds. A great time.

“Empty Cage Zoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We did see quite a few interesting animals but were disappointed by not seeing some of the larger animals one after another. It was fun to see the Leaping Lemurs, lots of birds, peacocks, huge ant eaters, and lots more. Small enough zoo to stop for just an hour or so. Good playground for kids too.

“Small, not many animals, needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We took a ship tour to several places on this island and the zoo was one if them. We were disappointed in the zoo. There were not many animals, and most that were there were totally hidden by the overgrown foliage in their cages and the thick bars and grates obscuring them. We stood in front of the few monkey cages! But the wires that made the cage were so thick and tight together that you had a hard time seeing through them. It was crowded and dark in the cage and you could not get a look inside. You could barely see the tropical parrots through their cages. There are beautiful plants and shrubs and exotic tropical trees, but overall this zoo was not a highlight of the trip.
