the good: Great location for getting to downtown hilo, and to volcano national park...Check in was seemless...I got a room with a double bed and a sofa bed...Stay away from that sofa bed, it neither comfortable, ,and quite noisy..It should be thrown out of all the rooms. There isnt even a blanket near nor on the sofa bed, nor in the closet for the sofa beds....I was able to go back to the reception and change for 2 double beds. The receptionist downstairs was really helpful in changing the room for me..There is a laundry room available, and breakfast in the morning which was a nice touch...Rooms were clean, but the Aircon in the room was really really loud...Had nice hot water from the shower, and the rooms were cleaned every day...For $70 a night it wasnt bad...All i wanted was a clean room, and somewhere to lie my head...Rooms were cleaned every day, and the kitchenette was a nice touch...
the Bad: Parking wasnt great...Give or take 40 stalls..Not once was i able to park in the parking lot, everyday i was parked on the street..It seems around 6pm everyone is coming back from their sightseeing adventures...Parking was free in the parking lot if you could find it...
the Ugly: I hardly slept at nights....My balcony overlooked the garden..At nights you could here 100's of birds in the trees that were really really really loud...And along with a species of frog that was accidentally introduced into hawaii called a Coqui frog...The frogs croaked all night....so between the frogs, and the birds made for a sleepless night at times... Closing the sliding glass door, and the window shutters does no good...
Other than that, for the price its a reasonable place to stay.....
