Mary Lou is one of a kind and was a wonderful find. We spent one day with Mary Lou in Hilo (private tour) and the next day with her husband, Ken, in Kona with another couple from our Celebrity Solstice cruise. The couple just adores each other and both are determined to provide their guests with a day filled with their love of their adopted island. We were able to visit the National Volcano Park one day prior to the closing of the national parks, a botanical garden, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut factory, an orchid farm and more. Ken took us to the Place of Refuge, Kona Joe's Coffee Plantation and the painted church.
This is a true Mom and Pop operation, so if you prefer a motor coach with impersonal service, Mary Lou's is not for you.
I can't imagine their is a better tour operator with better pricing available than Mary Lou's. If I am on the Big Island again, I would invite them to dinner.
