Stayed in a double room with my 3 kids. Staff was outstanding -- all were friendly and thoughtful. My 7yo pronounced it the most beautiful room she's ever stayed in and liked the "cute pool". Rooms are small, but efficient. We had a microwave and mini fridge in ours. The hotel was everything I expected for the price; i.e., a place to sleep and shower. A/C had an odd smell, but cooled the room well and did not bother any of the asthmatics in my family. I would definitely stay here again on my way through Wyoming.

Not our first choice in town, but beggars can't be choosers during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We were lucky and happy to get a room and get off the road. This hotel was all you could ask for a night layover...clean room, nice attentive staff, a sufficient breakfast of bagels, breads, pastries, coffee. Bed was comfy and our kid preferred (and liked!) sleeping on the recliner chair rather than the roll up bed (only a single room was available to us). I only heard the train in the morning, but it certainly wasn't loud. Only issue we noticed was that the indoor pool was stifling hot, and they had screws in the windows to keep them closed. Ventilation would have helped a lot! And, there was sand in the bottom of the jacuzzi. The restaurant right next door was nice for dinner.

Reasonable rates, clean (if small) rooms, and friendly front desk staff. Only downsides were it's one of those places where (1) smoking clientele hang out right at the back door to indulge in their nasty habit, which makes that particular entryway reek like smoke, (2) the horn-honking freight trains run close to the hotel every 10-15 minutes or so all night long (something that pertains to all motels in Torrington), and (3) in the morning there are 20 people circling the toast-and-cereal "continental breakfast" trying to get something to eat. Other than that, we would recommend staying here for an inexpensive overnighter on your way to someplace else.

We have stayed at this Americas Best Value Inn on other trips to the Torrington area. It has reasonable rates and the desk staff have always been friendly to work with. The room was clean and neat. It was evident the motel has made several upgrades since we last stayed there. There is a restaurant to the north and a nice grocery store to the south with a lunch counter. The coal trains pass a distance to the north. However, we always reserve a room on the south side and
noise has not been a problem. The continental breakfast is adequate.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter.

Our stay was one night, June 28th, 2012.

We were passing this way to start a long loop trip through WY, NE, SD, MT and ID. After flying into Denver and spending a large part of the day in Cheyenne, this looked like a good stopping point on the way to the Agate Fossil Beds NM close by in Nebraska.

Arriving in Torrington, the hotel was easy to locate on the way into town. The hotel is wedged in between a restaurtant and a small supermarket. Convenient on both counts.

Checkin was easy, and Nichole the attendant was pleasant and informative.

Our room was on the bottom floor, about half below parking lot level. Windows were at street level and viewing the lot. Two queens, a small fridge, a microwave and a TV were standard. Everything was clean, however the screen on the window did have a tear.

Bathroom was adequate and clean with necessary soap and shampoo etc. Towels etc were of good quality.

Breakfast of muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee were provided as well in the lobby.

The pool looked clean, but small, and we did not get a chance to try it out.

The restaurant next door was a decent family style diner.

If you are looking for a stopover point this is a good choice. We had no complaints.

The weekend I stayed at Americas Best Value Inn there was a graduation so this was one of the last rooms available in Torrington. The premises looked fairly clean but I woke up with bites all over my legs. I will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Check the room for bed bugs.
