Stayed 6 nights 1st week of Sept. After reading many many posts from individuals with only 1 contribution was a little nervous that the reviews were being flooded by the hotel itself, but those fears were unfounded and we had an excellent stay at the Terra. We have a 1 Bed Suite. Basically Master Bedroom w/Flat screen (37" /40" ??), Master Bath with double vanity, shower/tub combo and radiant heat flooring, living room with Flat screen (42"), Bose Surround Sound W/DVD, Fireplace, Dining Area w/6 chairs, Dining Area with nicely equipped kitchen with new appliances (Fridge, DW, Disposal, Toaster, Cofee Maker, Microwave) and a pull down murphy bed (not used). We stayed in the new wing, which is obviously very new, everything was practically unused. Very clean design, we were specifically looking for something that wasn't too kitschy-western themed, and this hotel did it just right. The ECO-Friendly of the hotel was very nice, but never intruded on the quality of the materials, the LEED certification was influential in us choosing this hotel, but if you didn't care about those type of things, you are giving up nothing. Room was very quiet, we heard no noise from other rooms (It was pretty packed with the LOTOJA and some conferences in the hotel). Service was great, they cleaned up and ran the dishwasher every day (which may not be really eco-friendly as sometimes there wasn't much in the dishwasher). Downtown Jackson is better location for access to restaurants, but in general we were much happier here, it was very close to the Park, quiet and convenient (we had little interest in Jackson's theme shops, tourist traps and the art galleries (we are east coast folk) but did enjoy several downtown restaurants). The room was just a really comfortable place to stay with contemporary design and all the comforts of home (we didn't bring any DVD's but it has a home theater with complete surround sound). Also, our room #267 had a huge balcony, it wrapped around the room and was essentially the full length and width of the room with a table & 4 chairs, a loveseat with foot stools and an extra chair. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need, we made breakfast every day and one dinner. Note: contrary to most hotels, they had respectable wine glasses (Spiegelau stemless). The balcony was awesome, but I didn't see any others that were nearly as big (most just simple two person balconies), we sat out their with a bottle of wine one night, and another night watched an awesome lighting storm over the southern part of the valley. Nice fitness room, we didn't use the pool, hot tub, or spa. We did eat at Villagio Osteria, Excellent Food. I would highly reccomend the Terra, and we look forward to taking a trip back in the winter.
Cons: Worst parking lot ever (some of the blame has to go to people's inability to park straight) but the lines are faint (a function of the weather?) and close together. The hotel was a little hard to find, many of the hotels blend together and the signage is small (from Jackson, take first left into Teton Villages, make a left at the hotels and hotel is on the right between then "Inn @ Jackson Hole" and the "Hostel" on the exact opposite side of the Mangy Moose. And from a design point of view: Outlet cover on the base of the island should more closely match the island color, and it would have been better to paint the area behing the fridge the same color as the back splash to blend in better (minor I know).
