“Best customer service and stay in Teaton Village yet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

My wife and I love to take a yearly off season trip to Jackson hole. Its quiet, not too many tourists, and the weather is cooler. In the last 10 years we tried almost all of the hotels in Teton Village and some in Jackson Hole city. This one was the best experience of all. The hotel is just fantastic. Allie, at the front desk, as well as the concierge, went out of their way to help me with my plans. You have to understand that this is the off season and Teton village amenities and grocery are often closed. Many restaurants are closed and most hotels run on a limited staff. The concierge still sent someone to town (15 mils away) to purchase my surprise welcoming gift for my wife's birthday: flowers, white chocolate and our favorite Prosecco. They upgraded our room and were incredibly courteous. Basically, the best customer service I have received in Jackson Hole to date. That, in contrast to the worst experience that is still worth mentioning, at the Snake River Lodge, few years back at the same time of the year. Because of Hotel Terra's great customer service, we are planning another trip in September. I am glad to know I will not have to try a different hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a South West corner room: unobstructed view of the valley.

We visited the property during the Mud Season so a number of the services such has the restaurant and spa were closed. Minimal staff was on hand during this time. That being said they did an incredible job of making our stay enjoyable.

While I am a fan of the low rates and lack of crowds during the should season, this would be a great resort anytime.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a view of the mountains if possible.

Our family has historically been a 'tropical' resort family, but this spring break we decided to try something different, so we decided to go the winter route and stay in Jackson Hole.

My wife did some extensive research on hotels and decided on the Hotel Terra. Overall, it is beautiful and well-appointed. Here are some particulars:

THE ROOM
The room has all of the amenities you may need. Dishes, full size refrigerator, stove and oven, coffee maker (and coffee, sugar, etc.), and dishwasher. Our room had a pull down bed, a couch and a separate master bedroom. The two bathrooms were excellent for us and our two children.

Housekeeping was awesome. They were timely, cleaned in an exceptional manner, and were very nice.

THE BED
The beds were comfortable although my pillow was a litle stiff. Overall, I still got some great sleep.

STAFF
Everytime we stepped off of the elevator, the front desk staff always had a pleasant hello for us. Very nice group of people who were always willing to help. My wife had some pre-travel conversations with the concierge staff, and ALL of them were very responsible and informative. They also set up a snowmobile tour for us which was so much fun. I highly recommend that you connect with them before your arrival.

THE RESORT
We came at a time when the resort was winding down, which was actually nice. We were able to get into any restaurant we wanted, with no wait, and everyone was so kind.

Also, be ready for resort prices. if you are looking for a $5.00 burger meal, go down the hill to McDonalds. Some of the places could use some 'sprucing up' (not at Hotel Terra), but overall, your appetitie will be satisfied. Hotel Terra does have a very good cafe with some excellent breakfast meals and coffee drinks.

GETTING AROUND:
We had a car, but we are slightly obsessive about controlling our own schedule. There were always busses and shuttles available for anyone who wanted to get back to the City of Jackson, although we never rode them. In my opinion, I am sure you could get away without a car up here.

OVERALL...
I would definitley stay here again. Hotel Terra has customer service figured out. Beautiful place and you cannot go wrong staying here.

My wife and I recently stayed 4 nights at Terra while spring skiing at Jackson Hole. It was our first time to the area and the Hotel Terra definitely contributed to our excellent stay. We had an urban studio on the top floor facing the slopes. This floorplan has a galley kitchen, small dining table and living room seating area plus a murphy bed, which was actually quite comfortable. We liked this design as it allowed us to have breakfast in our room and have more space for lounging after skiing. The balcony facing the slopes was very nice as it looked out on the tram and mountains. The finishes are contemporary and are well done especially the bathroom. We used the roof top hot tub twice and found it very fun and a it had a good view. We also used the no additional charge laundry which was just down the hall from our suite. The hotel location is close to the lifts, restaurants, and shops. The ski valet attendants were very helpful and you could actually ski right up to the hotel. I found the concierge to be very helpful when we had an issue with our airport transportation. We would definitely stay at the Terra again.

Room Tip: A high floor room facing the slopes or on the the north side is best. We preferred the west buildin...

I have been to Jackson Hole many times but have never stayed at Hotel Terra. It is going to be hard for me to stay anywhere else on our future trips to Jackson. From the service at the front desk, concierge, bellman, and wait staff, the service was a very very hight level. I have never stayed at a place where I felt like so many people remembered my name that had just met me for a short time. The rooms were first class. Very spacious upscale feel. Great mattress, sheets, and pillows and comfortable furniture. Felt like everything at this resort was environmentally friendly but they had done a lot of research on the products they used, because the quality of the product never suffered. We were here on a friend/business trip but hope to come back up and stay with our family.

We stayed at Hotel Terra during spring break in March - it was the best skiing vacation we ever had , having skied in Colorado, Utah, Whistler, and Europe. Hotel Terra had wonderful service, ski valet, great food, and the mountain is simply the best for skiing. The rooms we had were in the corner of the hotel overlooking the tram, the mountains and the town square (unit 300), the best views and beautifully decorated with flat screen TVs, a great kitchen and a Bose surround system.
We spend one day in Yellowstone on snowmobiles - a once in a lifetime experience. We will be back soon.

Room Tip: Ask for unit 300 or room 302, great views, close to elevators, large and sunny corner rooms, no nois...

My husband and I stayed here on our way to Yellowstone in October 2012. It was off season for skiing however the property was still beautiful and we greatly enjoyed our stay. We only stayed one night. Next time we go to Yellowstone we will probably stay two nights at this hotel and one less night in the park where the hotels leave much to be desired.
The bathroom was our favorite part of the room--air tub, heated floor, and it's own temperature control. Just wonderful!!

Dear amalthea44,

We appreciate your "just wonderful" comment and the fact that you enjoyed the heated floors (an often overlooked perk!). We suggest that the next time you visit Yellowstone that you stay with us at the end of your trip so that you can relax and enjoy Chill Spa and the views from the spa's roof top hot tub before rejoining the rat race!

Wishing you the very best from Jackson Hole!
