If you enjoy authentic Thai you have one option in Jackson Hole, Teton Thai, which I've been visiting for the last decade on various visits to JH. I've also tried the other restaurants that followed Teton Thai to attempt to recreate their dishes and regretted doing so as they weren't nearly as good as TT on service, food, or ambiance. I hadn't visited TT for years and learned they had relocated to the ski village, so we decided to visit. The new restaurant is tastefully decorated (upscale rustic wood with red accents) and walking distance to the gondola at the base of the mountain. We ordered five different plates and all were superb with very friendly, casual service.
Our local friends hosting said Teton Thai is a family business where the Thai owner's prepare the food fresh daily with spices and ingredients flown in to provide a truly exceptional offering of unique flavors. The tastes are explosive and unexpected at the base of a skiing village in the mountains of Wyoming where ethnic foods can be scarce and bland flavors are abundant.
This restaurant would do well in any major city. The fact that it is the only authentic Thai place in Jackson Hole makes it a real treat and quite a pleasant surprise for a ski village offering few ethnic restaurants to chose from.
