“In Teton Village this is the only Hotel to consider.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2010

The phrase 5 star this or 5 star that is thrown around a lot these days. Honestly, there are really very few resorts/hotels/restaurants that measure up to that level of quality. Rest assured, however, that the Four Seasons at Jackson Hole is one of those places. This is a hotel that has its act together from A to Z. We also stayed at the Hotel Terra, and although it was nice, how it could be ranked higher than the Four Season is completely beyond me. The Hotel Terra is not in the same universe as the Four Seasons. All of the staff encounters we had were excellent. Our room was superb, and all the food we had was excellent. The spa treatments we received were wonderful. This place is close to heaven on earth. Should we return to Jackson Hole this is the only place we would consider.

If you find something negative to say about this hotel, there is no pleasing you. Everything was amazing - from the in-room fireplace to the gorgeous heated pool. Location is superb - away from "busy" Jackson and right at the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We loved it and hope to go back. if you stay in the winter, the ski lift is right outside the back door.

My wife and I went to the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole for our anniversary in August (which is great time to escape Dallas). We had heard the hotel was fantastic, and so we had really high expectations. Our expectations were met and exceeded in every way. The hotel is beautiful. The restaurants are great, and the spa, gym and pool are all exceptional. The "sushi at sunset," which consisted of two glasses of wine and sushi rolls for $20 became a evening ritual. I went fly-fishing in the Tetons National Park with Triangle X, and would highly recommend it.

Jackson itself was a disappointment (although Snake River Grill is very good), and Teton Village is not great, either, but if stay at the hotel and the park, you will have a great trip!

We have stayed at various lodges in Jackson Hole, Four Seasons was the best. Yes it is expensive, but you do get what you pay for here. The skiing is right out the back door of the hotel. Excellent Ski center with rentals, instruction, etc. The ambiance is fabulous. The resort is not right in the town of Jackson Hole, its just a short cab ride away. We went dog-sledding (the dogs are just a short walk from the hotel), this was ALOT of fun! On real snow! The hotel sent us on a beautiful trip up a nearby mounting for dinner & sleigh ride, we had fabulous views, incredible food in a chalet-style restaurant on the mountain (near Oberi resort). Would love to go back. Only negative thing to say, I used the spa at the hotel, I would rate it average.

There are a lot of fancy hotels at ski resorts these days, but most don't combine location and amenities as well as the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole. It is like staying at an updated Stein Eriksen in Deer Valley. First, the hotel is truly ski-in, ski-out. Frankly, that is the basis of real luxury. Humping gear around, especially with kids, is a drag. The folks in the boot room were helpful and friendly and and our boots were dry and ready to go every morning. The Peak cafe was conveniently located to the boot room for lunch and you have to love the hostess who gave me the NYT to read while I waited for my husband. How thoughtful!

They have a nifty program that allows you to order meals for four to your room to be served family style. We did this at breakfast and it was great. The breakfast food was very good and plentiful and it made it easier to get everyone dressed and on the slopes on time for lessons, etc. We also found the shuttle into town to great and didn't need a car. The shuttle runs frequently and is stocked with water and hot chocolate. We enjoyed watching the scenary on the way in, but they also showed snowboarding flics.

In general, I found everyone at the hotel to be very friendly and our visit went smoothly. The public rooms are very warm and inviting and we enjoyed the outdoor pool and spa. I would definitely go again.

There's two areas that the hotel could use some improvement. First, the food service in the restaurants is slow and just not that good. It's disappointing overall. Second, the folks at the concierge desk need to familiarize themselves a bit more the the lessons/packages offered by the ski school. They'll help, but have to be prodded.

We enjoyed the Four Seasons Jackson Hole. We had a deluxe room which was just beautiful and huge! Great cozy gas fireplace, huge closet/changing room (good for storing all your winter equipment), and gorgeous bathroom with deep soaking tub.

As other reviewers have all mentioned, if you are looking for a convenient and top notch ski in/ ski out location, this is it. The base camp staff were friendly and helpful, and the ski school is good as well. Too bad that there wasn't much natural snow when we were there in late December.

In terms of food, there could be a bit more variety at this property, but overall the dining was good. The hot chocolate is a nice touch. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, dinner at the Westbank Grill, and the lobby lounge (try the buffalo quesadillas), but after a few days we were sick of the limited food options. Definitely go into town and eat at Snake River Grill.

The spa is beautiful and has a particularly nice and spacious changing area with sauna and steam room. One perk is that you can use the spa area any time in contrast to some properties where you can only use the day you book a spa service. My husband and I enjoyed the hot stone massages.

The sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge is also not to be missed in the winter. There is a shuttle that goes in and out of town every 30 minutes and the drivers are all very nice and offer you hot chocolate.

As much as we liked our trip, in comparison to other Four Seasons we felt that this location was a bit overpriced. Maybe it was because we were visiting over the holidays, but we couldn't help but feel that there was something lacking in character about this property. I wouldn't recommend visiting over Christmas (if it is a holiday that you celebrate) because the resort felt a bit sterile during this time.

Overall, I would recommend if you are traveling to Jackson Hole, but only if money is not a concern or if you are able to find a good deal on the website (and a cheap flight). Since we live on the east coast, we will stick to skiing in VT and NH in the future.
