“Fantastic all around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011 via mobile

Recently completed a stay at the hotel between Xmas and New Years. Great value overall with very tasteful, large, and functional rooms. Location is key, being situated very close to lifts. We have stayed at other hotels in Teton Village, including the obvious 5-star choice, and this hotel provides similar rooms/accommodations at 1/3 the price at this time of year (the overall property is not as nice, but your room is where you spend most of your time). Staff is very accommodating overall and was very helpful when we requested a room change due to a glitch, going above and beyond and offering us a bottle of wine. Finally, we've had some great meals in the Cascade restaurant-highly recommended. We were here this summer, and will for sure be back again.

Great place beside the restaurant. Food is below average. Breakfast is not good, we end up going across the road to their sister hotel to have breakfast at terra cafe.

Dear gregmore155,

Thank you for taking the time to indicate that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are so happy that you felt the location, staff and facilities were great. We apologize if your experience in Cascade was below average. As the number one-ranked TripAdvisor restaurant in Teton Village, our Chef and his staff strive for excellence in all areas of the restaurant and food produce and preparation. Cascade is both locally and nationally recognized for its commitment to only the finest ingredients; the majority of which come from surrounding local farmers and purveyors including Teton Creamery in Driggs Idaho, Amaltheia Dairy in Belgrade, Montana for goat cheese, Grass Fed Wyoming beef, and summer produce from Snowdrift farm in Idaho. Most everything in the restaurant is carefully curated and in-house created, right down to the homemade ketchup which is free of harmful ingredients like high fructose corn syrup. We hope you will consider giving Cascade another try if your travels bring you back to the Jackson Hole area.

Warm regards,

Tyler Barker

First of all, I love murphy beds. I think they are the coolest thing around. When I walked into my well appointed room at the Teton Mountain Lodge, i noticed the wood paneled wall near the sitting area, but I really focused on the fireplace, the king bed and generous kitchen. It wasn't until later that I noticed that wood panelling was actually a murphy bed. While I was travelling alone, I could see how awesome this would be for a family ski trip. A family of four could easily base their Jackson Hole vacation out of this room for a week, with plenty of sleeping space that easily converts to a nice room to hang out in. Unlike most rooms that sleep 4, where almost all of the square footage is consumed by beds, this room easily becomes a cozy spot with room for the little ones to play during the day.

The staff was very warm and welcoming upon arrival and throughout the trip. Always called me by name. Simple, but nice touch.

While the amenities are nice, there are two things that are stellar.

First, location. Nestled at the foot of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you can't help but be blown away by perhaps the most scenic mountains in the United Stats. Now I am from Colorado, and I love the Colorado Rockies, but you have to give credit where credit is due- the Tetons are breathtaking. And, they provide 4,000 vertical feet of killer skiing right out the door.

The Second, which is related to the first, is the rooftop hot tub. Sitting there, enjoying an apres drink, soaking in the warm water and drinking in the incredible views of the Tetons towering above while snowflakes fall gently is simply magical.

Room Tip: Get a room with a Murphy Bed- not sure if they all have them or not.

We booked a Sundance Junior Suite. Absolutely perfect for my husband and me and the view was spectacular. First took the Jackson Hole Tram to the TOP of the mountain...no waiting in late September. Came back to a gas fireplace, giant TV, plenty of room, microwave, coffeemaker, etc. and large walk-in closet and giant bathroom with upgraded amenities. Rooftop hot tub was unbelievable -- 16 person hot tub and we were the only ones surrounded by the mountains -- talk about romantic! Concierge booked the combination float trip and whitewater raft trip for us and it was fantastic. Every night we chose the Mangy Moose for dinner....fun apres ski place but since it was sunny and in the 50's, we only saw the ghosts of the crazy skiers, band and partying that must go on there during ski season. Anyway, stay at the Teton Mountain Lodge for a perfect Teton Village vacation anytime of the year!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that looks onto the ski tram.

We had booked a junior suite, but when we checked into it, it was shockingly tiny. Perhaps if it was called 'one cramped room with bed, murphy bed, and kitchen", we might have been better prepared for the space.) This was not reason enough to move rooms...though it was certainly odd to have a large bed with a kitchen on one side of it and a murphy bed (for the kids) on the other side of it. If the murphy bed was down, and someone had to get up in the middle of the night, they'd have to navigate an obstacle course to move about. The layout is tight and odd...as soon as you enter, there is a table for four, next to that is the kitchen area, then the counter with two chairs, then the bed, then the space for hte murphy bed.

But that was not the deal killer...it was the noise from the kitchen fan coming out of the restaurant from the hotel terra behind the Grand teton lodge that did us in. So...we go to the front desk, and the young man there did comment that he has heard other complaints about the fan...so he upgraded us to a one bedroom suite (for an additional charge, but not the full rack rate.) Phew...and the one bedroom was NIGHT AND DAY like luxurious accommodations by comparison. Our vacation would have been very different in the junior suite (4 people in one room, which for us is not problematic, but there was no place to put even one suitcase, let alone 4 suitcases in the junior suite.) Once we were in the one bedroom suite, it was divine. Fireplace, view of mountain (though views mean little to me...i don't go to the room for the view.) But it was lovely! Also, the size of the bathroom in the one bedroom was HUGE...with two door access. Tons of towels, clean, and a double sink with ample counter space. We used the rooftop hot tub every night...very fun. We would return, but do not book the junior suite unless you clarify exactly how big it is and how many people you are and whether it has a murphy bed (which eats up the only free space in the room when it's down).

Room Tip: don't face the back if you are sensitive to noise, arrive soon after official check in hours so...

After traveling all day from Houston, TX, I was anxious to get some questions I had from the website about the spa. My husband and I stood there in shock as the young lady behind the desk blankly stared at us and said, "The spa is closed for the season."

I think this place is gorgeous, but it would be nice if they would make a comment on the website to this effect. Duh.

Room Tip: Request up high in you want a view
