“So much to see and do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

This was our second trip to the big horns .. We came in June and again in October and still will need to come back again. There is so much to see and do in the park. Today our drive was the most beautiful with the changed colors of the leaves. We ride motorcycle and my only warning is to know it gets cold so bring your cold gear and be ready to add layers. The Big Horn Mountains are definitely s place to go! We wanted to spend time in the shell area but they were doing work so if your planning on that area check ahead to know they are done or make a trip back like we will.

Went to Bighorn National Forest from the Red Lodge end. The scenery was spectacular especially the Canyon overlook.

“The Vastness of Bighorn National Forest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

One cannot imagine how huge this area is until you have been there to experience it first hand. No photograph or video can portray how vast this area is even if you were flying over this historic and beautiful area. Anyone traveling through the Montana Wyoming mid border area, this is a must.

“Have a good memory card for camera”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Drove in from Sheridan and stopped several times to take photos at overlooks. Gravel road to Medicine Wheel was well-marked and well-maintained, and the hike from the parking area was easy at 9500' altitude. Backtracked to drive down Shell Canyon (but couldn't hike there do to closure for road construction). Took lots of photos. Drive carefully; use lower gears to save brakes and don't flick cigarettes out of car -- forest fires start easily.

“great area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Very scenic to drive through!!! Don't miss it and if necessary, change yuour route to include it. We liked the hike to the waterfall from the lodge in the middle of the park and saw some deer and birds as well.
