“Great Place Wonderful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

This summer we found the Paintbrush to be ideally located for a week's worth of touring about south central Wyoming. The lure of awesome vistas, birding, fossils and even hot springs brought us to the Paintbrush and the friendly helpful folks kept us there. Teddy the dog will melt anyone's heart and the warm family feelings we enjoyed from the staff and owners made the stay perfect. If you want to be treated like family but enjoy the quality of a comfortable, squeaky clean room, then this is the place for you. Now that winter is here I am planning my return next summer.

We stayed here one night, room was $72 for 2 people and 2 beds. Very big room and very clean bathroom. Beds were a tad too soft but good enough. Only complaint was not very good reading light. Cable, fridge, and microwave.

The reviews are accurate. My room was meticulously cleaned. There wasn't a spec of dust or grim anywhere in the room. WiFi speeds average 3.5mbps. That's unheard of in bandwidth-throttled commercial chains. The front desk clerk was personable, and made you feel right at home. My pillows look a little flat, but that's easily fixed with a call, I'm sure. Everything else I looked at in Riverton was close to double the price. This is why I trust Trip Advisor... I nice retro hotel, great price, and there is a bar/restaurant in the hotel right next door. The reviews were spot on.

We spent one night at this motel and we were very pleased with our stay. The most important three things I want in a hotel/motel room: comfy bed, clean room, good price - this place had all three main requirements. It's an old-fashioned motel like the ones we used to stay in 40 years ago (and the price of only $63 was also old-fashioned), but I must say, this one is well-kept and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The room (#26) we stayed in had dated furniture, white walls and one bland picture on the wall, but that didn't matter to us -- the room was clean and best of all, the bed was comfy - a huge priority with me. There was also a frig and microwave and -- real glasses and mugs in the room (that's very unusual these days!). We had one queen bed and were told that they only have one king bed on the premises. Oh, and the water pressure in the shower was great - also, unusual these days.

The staff (made up of owners and relatives) were very friendly. There is no hairdryer in the room and when I called the front desk about a loaner, he said he'd bring it to me. He was very friendly about it.

The motel does not provide breakfast. They are conveniently located on the main highway. I would have given it an "excellent" rating, but the dated decor does deduct a bit from the rating, but that's really not a big deal when spending a night somewhere. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Paintbrush if you're passing through Riverton.

We were on our way to spend two weeks camping in Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and stopped in Riverton, WY for one night. What a pleasant surprise the Paintbrush Motel was for us. The room was of an older decor but very clean, large and everything worked fine. The beds were quite comfortable and the shower was fantastic (best shower head ever). This family run property knows how to do it right, they were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for dinner and breakfast (next door). The motel is on the main road through town but we never heard the traffic at all. It was full with many guests doing local construction work but they were quiet and to bed early. We love these older well maintained motels as they are priced right and offer a clean comfortable night's rest.

Came into town late at night, Pam was very friendly even at that time of night. Clean, comfortable room. The bed was even more comfortable than the one we have at home. Glad I took the time to check them out.

Stayed at the Paintbrush for a week in September, visiting family. Everything in previous reviews concerning friendliness of the staff and the comfort and cleanliness of the facility is right on target. In easy reach of everything in Riverton and staff is responsive to any questions you may have.

Room Tip: If you are not used to highway noise a room at teh back of the facility might be for you.
